  • Publication number: 20050147261
Abstract: Sound and the spatial location of the sound relative to a microphone array are sensed and derived respectively and transmitted to a sound reproducing system that uses the sound as a monaural stream and shapes the monaural stream according to channels using time delays, attenuation, reverberation, and filters that represent head-related transfer functions (HRTFs) where each HRTF has coefficients that are functions of spatial location, particularly one or both angles of incidence. This invention in some embodiments provides for acoustical images of a speaker moving relative to the microphone array and in other embodiments provides for adjustments in a listener's HRTF database derived from sounds from the listener.

  • Publication number: 20050058366
Abstract: A method of repairing scratches in a digital image includes counting the number of abnormal pixels among neighboring pixels of a selected pixel. The selected pixels that are surrounded by abnormal pixels in a number greater than a predetermined value are designed as particular pixels. An area surrounding each particular pixel is divided into a plurality of blocks. Furthermore, brightness difference between two of the blocks are calculated. Scratch pixels are found from the particular pixels based on brightness difference between blocks. Then, an area surrounded by scratch pixels are subdivided and filled up. Thereby, the scratch pixels can be precisely found and repaired without the need of hardware.

  • Publication number: 20050007463
Abstract: A rapid white balance method for color digital image is disclosed. This method is applied to RGB color regions in an image. First, the image is divided into several blocks to obtain the G parameter, then the averaged R and B parameters of each block, thereby obtaining the R and B parameters of the whole image. Using the R and B parameters, the method obtains an R gain and a B gain. Finally, the image is adjusted. The method only uses one RGB value for each pixel. The processing time is reduced, while the quality of the image is increased.

  • Publication number: 20040258329
Abstract: A digital image interpolation method is disclosed which a projection point (x, y) of the original image corresponding to a pixel of the transformed image first is determined. According to neighboring pixels (m, n) of the projection point, Gauss weights Wi then are determined. Lastly, according to the Gauss weights Wi and the corresponding color value Vi of the neighboring pixels, a color value f (x, y) of the projection point is computed. Via an interpolation method using Gauss weight, the computation time is reduced while qualitatively improving the image processing.

  • Patent number: 6687373
Abstract: A method, apparatus and system employing such for adapting the Beta factor in a echo cancellation adaptive filter by using echo loss return enhancement (ERLE) as a metric to determine the setting of the Beta factor. In addition, a method and apparatus for determining the optimum number of filter taps used in an adaptive filter by dividing a filter array into blocks of taps, finding for each tap the sum of squares of the coefficients therein and then comparing the sum to an average block energy. Based on this comparison, a block is deemed to either contribute significantly to the operation of the filter or not. Starting with the tail end block of the array, the optimum filter order is found by determining when the first contributing block is found.

  • Patent number: 6151214
Abstract: Disclosed is a bearing structure of a central processing unit comprises a radiating plate, a back plate, a plurality of screws and elastic elements. The radiating plate has a heat conductive portion and a plurality of sleeves. The back plate is installed below the radiating plate and has a plurality of studs. The plurality of screws are placed within the sleeves of the radiating plate, and protrudes from the bottom of the radiating plate. The plurality of elastic elements being installed between the screws and the sleeve. The radiating plate is moved by the elastic elements so that the heat conductive portion of the radiating plate presses elastically the central processing unit. Therefore, the pressure will not be too large so as to harm the central processing unit, or too small so as to cause the unfastening therebetween. As a result, during assembly, the fastening force of the screws would not be adjusted. Thus, the assembly work becomes easily and the cost is reduced.
