    Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of sensor devices comprising a sensing component able to determine the presence of, detect, and/or quantify detectable species in a variety of environments and applications. The sensing components disclosed herein can comprise MOF materials, plasmonic nanomaterials, or combinations thereof. In an exemplary embodiment, light guides can be coupled with the sensing components described herein to provide sensor devices capable of increased NIR detection sensitivity in determining the presence of detectable species, such as gases and volatile organic compounds. In another exemplary embodiment, optical properties of the plasmonic nanomaterials combined with MOF materials can be monitored directly to detect analyte species through their impact on external conditions surrounding the particle or as a result of charge transfer to and from the plasmonic material as a result of interactions with the plasmonic material and/or the MOF material.

    Abstract: A heat dissipation system for cabinet servers supported on a raised floor includes a condenser, airflow adjusting apparatus, a controller, and a temperature sensor located at an air outlet of each cabinet server. The raised floor defines air outlets adjacent to each cabinet server. The adjusting apparatus are mounted to the raised floor and aligning with the air outlets. Each of the airflow adjusting apparatus includes a number of shielding members rotatable relative to the raised floor and aligning with the air outlets, and a motor electrically coupled to the controller. The temperature sensors are electrically coupled to the controller. The condenser generates cool air entering the raised floor through the air inlet, to enter the cabinet servers through the airflow adjusting apparatus and the air outlets. The controller controls the shielding members to rotate, to change the opening size of the air outlets of the raised floor.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are an adaptive illumination apparatus and an adaptive illumination method. The adaptive illumination apparatus is associated with a target scene and comprises a control module and an illumination module. The control module is configured to generate a command associated with an area included in the target scene. Specifically, the control module selects the area and determines a scope and a direction associated therewith based on a brightness distribution of the target scene, receives a distance parameter associated with a distance between the area and the illumination module, and indicates said scope, direction and distance parameter in the command. The illumination module, coupled with the control module, is capable of panning, tilting, and zooming. Based on the command, the illumination module performs panning, tilting, or zooming and illuminates the area.

    Abstract: A system for controlling container data centers (CDCs) includes a number of CDC groups, a number of slave monitoring systems, and a master monitoring system. Each CDC group includes a number of CDCs. Each slave monitoring system is connected to the CDCs of one CDC group via a network. Each slave monitoring system receives and processes data transmitted from the CDCs connected to the slave monitoring system, and transmits the processed data to the master monitoring system via the network. The master monitoring system receives the processed data from the slave monitoring systems, responds to user input to receive settings for controlling operation of the plurality of CDCs, and transmits the settings to the plurality of slave monitoring systems. The slave monitoring system transmit the settings to the CDCs connected to the slave monitoring systems. Each CDC operates according to the settings input by the user.

The reactor includes a mixing zone unit and a residence time unit removably coupled to the mixing zone unit. The mixing zone unit includes at least one top inlet, a side inlet, and a bottom outlet. An injection tube, or plurality of injection tubes, is inserted through the top inlet and extends past the side inlet while terminating above the bottom outlet. A first reactant solution flows in through the side inlet, and a second reactant solution flows in through the injection tube(s). With reference to nanoparticle synthesis, the reactant solutions combine in a mixing zone and form nucleated nanoparticles. The nucleated nanoparticles flow through the residence time unit. The residence time unit may be a single conduit, or it may include an outer housing and a plurality of inner tubes within the outer housing.
