Abstract: A network includes multiple nodes interconnected to form a mesh topology. These nodes support working paths for the transmission of data and protection paths to provide for recovery in the event of failures on working paths. To select protection paths, elements of the network consider timing constraints associated with failure recovery.

Abstract: A hand winch having a removable sway handle includes a main body having a winding drum and a plurality of ratchet teeth thereon for winding a cable, a subordinate hook secured to one end of the main body, a main hook suspended from the distal portion of the cable which is fastened to the other end of the main body, a sway handle a tongs shaped front portion composed of a pair of symmetrical prongs each of which has a concave respectively engaged with the main axis and rotatably fixed by a pair of movable plates in cooperation with a pair of elastic members each of which has a cap protruded to outside of the prongs and engaged with a circular through hole of the movable plates, a check pawl engaged within the ratchet teeth and rotatably operated by a lever in the tongs shaped front portion. Thereby, press inward of the caps to set the movable plate free to rotate in order to permit the sway handle readily removed from the main body.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for selecting failure protection paths in a WDM network. The method exploits wavelength reservation sharing potentials presented by non-concurrent failure events on a plurality of links sharing a link in a protection path. Light-weight aggregated link metrics termed “buckets” are used to track wavelength reservations for protection paths on individual links in the network. These buckets are then used to construct protection paths with minimized wavelength consumption. The method is employed on individual networking devices in a distributed manner or is used by a centralized network management system to allocate protection paths.

Abstract: A temperature controlled storage container integrated into the trim member of a vehicle comprising a storage container integrated into said trim member. A thermoelectric heat pump is employed to provide temperature control to the storage container and to selectively heat or cool the container. Optionally, a duct is added that is in communication with the thermoelectric heat pump wherein the duct is also in communication with air intake resulting from motion of the vehicle and wherein the duct is also capable of venting outside of said vehicle.

Abstract: A radiator bonding to a heat source for transmitting thermal energy includes a conductive base board and a plurality of radiation fins. The conductive base board is in contact with the heat source to perform heat transfer. The radiation fins are mounted onto the conductive base board and are segmented into a first fin section and a second fin section that are spaced from each other at a selected distance to form an airflow space with a wider upper end and a narrower lower end. Airflow generated by a radiation air fan is directly channeled to the conductive base board to perform heat exchange.

Abstract: A lighting device especially suitable for automotive center-high-mounted-stop-light (CHMSL) and brake light applications is provided. The lighting device comprises a display panel having at least two interfaces therein, with at least one interface configured as a light reflective interface and at least one interface configured as a light emitting interface. At least a portion of light from a light source propagates through the display panel into contact with the light reflective interface and is reflected by the light reflective interface towards the light emitting interface using total internal reflection.

Abstract: A network provides fault tolerant network routing by identifying root nodes that provide cover against a particular type of fault. Nodes then route copies of packets through these root nodes such that an occurrence of the particular type of fault will not disrupt delivery of the packets.

Abstract: A heat-exchanging fin device serves for enhancing heat exchange efficiency. The fin device comprises at least two fin plates. Each fin plate comprises a plurality of parallel adjacent straight banks. Each bank has the same width and comprises a plurality of convex portions and concave portions. The concave portions and convex portions are alternatively arranged. Each of the concave portions and convex portions has a U-like shape. Each of the convex portions and concave portions are opened at two ends. In assembly, adjacent banks are shifted with a predetermined length so that the convex portions and concave portions of the adjacent banks are not aligned and thus a portion between two adjacent portions of adjacent banks is opened. Thereby, a plurality of penetrating channels passing through a plurality of banks are formed along the openings of the concave portions and convex portions.

Abstract: An automotive display panel having a plurality of clear plastic substrates, wherein color-printed inks or foils are imprinted on the substrates. Each plastic substrate includes digits and identifying marks in selected areas. After creating a metallic-looking finish on the substrates, finely configured lines, such as concentric circles or radial lines, are printed on the color-tinted layer to create a desired appearance. Thereafter,,when the printing is completed, the substrates may be formed in multi-level configurations for providing a three-dimensional appearance. Backlighting is also provided to illuminate the selected areas of the substrates.

Abstract: A method and system of combining a plurality of parallel communication channels to emulate a single high-bandwidth communication channel. A continuous stream of packets are grouped as traffic aggregates and assigned to queues associated with the plurality of parallel communication channels. The assignment and reassignment of traffic aggregates to the queues is performed dynamically based on measuring the queue load ratios associated with the lengths of the queues for each of the parallel communication channels. Grouping of existing and future packets as traffic aggregates is based on common attributes shared by the packets such as common source and destination IP addresses.

Abstract: A hand operated cable dragging machine includes a frame having a hook and a check pawl on one end, a tongue and a guide tube on the other end a cover with a crest on bottom and a capstan, a ratchet and a Y-shaped handle coaxially and rotatably secured in the middle portion of the frame. A check pawl in the frame to prevent the ratchet from turning backward. A pawl member in the Y-shaped handle to operated the ratchet and the capstan. An adjustable device above the pawl member for controlling the engagement condition of the pawl member with the ratchet. It is characterized that this hand operated cable dragging machine can be able to serve any sized cable and the length of the cable is not limitative so as capable of dragging the heavy object at along distance.

Abstract: A handle for a hand power puller includes a transparent handle having a first chamber and a second chamber, a tubular adapter engaged into the first chamber and releasably connected the handle with a tubular projection of a fork like operator of the hand power puller, a miniature flash light removably engaged into the second chamber with a sealing engaged therebetween and a rubber cap secured to the rear end of the flash light. So that the handle is waterproof and the flash light facilitates the hand power puller can be worked in darkness or in the rain.

Abstract: A reflector for backlighting an indicating instrument has two groups of flutes arranged for evenly distributing light and reducing bright spots. A plate has a recessed portion for receiving the indicating instrument and a semi-bowl-shaped compartment extending away from the plate and opening to the indicating instrument. The compartment has a base with a central projection formed by parabolic flutes and a semi-circular wall connecting the base with the recessed portion of the plate. The semi-circular wall has an inner surface facing the parabolic flutes. The inner surface has flutes extending in a radial direction from the base. Two apertures are positioned in the compartment across a boundary between the base and semi-circular wall. The apertures each receive a light emitting diode mounted on a printed circuit board when the board is assembled on the reflector. The parabolic flutes distribute the light from the light emitting diodes to evenly backlight the indicating instrument.

Abstract: A motor vehicle lighting device is provided comprising a ground illumination portion configured to direct a portion of the light emitted from a light source to illuminate a ground surface area rearward from the motor vehicle and a reverse signaling portion configured to direct a portion of the light emitted from the light source to an area different than the ground illumination portion. In this manner, a rearward vehicle lighting device designed for ground illumination and reverse signaling is provided from a single lamp and more preferably, using a single light source.
