  • Method and apparatus for updating locations of dormant mobile stations

    Abstract: In code division multiple access communication systems, there are three levels for updating locations of dormant mobile stations (MSs) and setting up fast call. In sector and are levels, the dormant MS send a layer 2 message containing a message type and MS identifier to a base transceiver station (BTS). Since the message is associated with the sector where the MS is located, the network is aware of the MS's location from the updated location. The dormant MS sends to the BTS a reconnect message containing a message type and an MS identifier. The MS's dormant to active state transition is initiated by the MS. In the communication network, sub-packet zone ID is broadcasted in the overhead message. The MS reports its location change on R-CSCH and the network with the BSC level control can page the MS within the zone where the MS sends the report.

The flip cover defines a positioning hole. The swivel hinge defines a chamber corresponding to the positioning hole. The positioning mechanism includes a resiliently biasing means contained in the chamber and a protrusion with one end thereof contacting the biasing means and the other end thereof extending out of the chamber. The biasing means resiliently biases the protrusion so that the protrusion is depressible within the chamber to enable the protrusion to be inserted into the positioning hole for positioning the flip cover or to be released from the positioning hole for permitting the flip cover rotation.

The cover defines a positioning hole. The hinge unit defines an opening corresponding to the positioning hole. The positioning mechanism includes a cantilevered arm disposed in the hinge unit. One end of the cantilevered arm connects to the hinge unit, while the other end is free and forms a protuberance thereon. The protuberance extends above the top surface of the hinge unit through the opening and is depressible within the opening to enable the protuberance to be inserted into the positioning hole for positioning the cover or release from the positioning hole for permitting the cover rotation.

An improved pilot-operated, “instant-on”, solenoid isolation valve discloses a new fluid passage route to save cost of drilling a longitudinal hole within the primary piston. Also, a new feature of primary piston assembly with a movable seal piston having a specific circumferential surface matching to valve body chamber to restrict fluid from front side into back side of the primary piston to produce pressure difference to induce instant valve open when solenoid is energized initially. It also introduces a channel hole in the flange of the sleeve assembly as a communication channel of supply of gas into the chambers of the back side of primary piston assembly. The diameter of the channel hole is not critical to determine in this new invent.
