The gas pedestal burner includes a burner portion having a sidewall, a lower surface facing the cooktop surface, a plurality of burner ports in the sidewall, and a base portion under the burner portion. The base portion elevates the burner portion in a vertical direction above the cooktop surface and has a lower mounting surface disposed on the cooktop surface. An area of a footprint of the lower mounting surface of the base portion is less than an area of a footprint of the lower surface of the burner portion.

Abstract: A gas burner of a household cooking appliance is provided. The gas burner includes a burner portion, and a pedestal portion under the burner portion for elevating the burner portion above a cooktop surface of the household cooking appliance. The pedestal portion includes a base portion for mounting with the cooktop surface of the household cooking appliance, and an upper portion that interposes the base portion and the burner portion, and interfaces with the burner portion. A perimeter of the base portion has no mathematical correlation to one of a perimeter of the burner portion and a perimeter of the upper portion.

Abstract: A superluminal antenna element having a transmission line feed, and an array comprising a plurality of such antenna elements, is presented. In one example, the antenna element includes a dielectric base portion having a cutout area, a mode transition element coupled to the cutout, a stripline transmission line connected to the mode transition, and a dielectric radiator element disposed within the cutout. The cutout of the dielectric base portion has first and second pluralities of steps arranged in opposing pairs. The mode transition element is located below and coupled to the cutout area of the dielectric base portion. The dielectric radiator element is mounted within the cutout area in an opposing pair of steps. Imposing a time-varying signal on the dielectric radiator element by way of the transmission line, mode transition element, and stepped cutout induces a polarization current in the dielectric radiator element.

The mount comprises a plate member having a central aperture and an upper pair of elongated slots and a lower pair of elongated slots. Each of the elongated slots extends parallel to a central longitudinal axis of the plate member. A mounting stud is slidably received in at least one of the upper pair of elongated slots and the lower pair of elongated slots for positioning of the stud relative to the central aperture, wherein the studs can be located at selected distances from the central aperture for alignment with a hole through the door.

Abstract: A method of making a pallet (10, 210) includes providing a pallet inner core (16, 218), and attaching, by adhesive, first and second complementarily shaped plastic skin shells (12, 14, 226) to portions of the core, and interconnecting the shells by heat fusing or interlocking elements. Each shells is formed of two plastic materials. The core is formed with reinforcing truss beams (700) therein, each having an upper chord part (710) which is flush with an upper surface of the core and in contact with the upper shell or adhesive. Each beam has webs (708) connected to chords, straight central portions (702) and end portions (704) extending downwardly into leg portions of the pallet. Also disclosed is a pallet having such features.

Abstract: A protective dressing includes an outer dressing and an adhesive layer. The outer dressing includes an opening and a cavity sized to receive a phase-change material (PCM) insert inserted through the opening. The adhesive layer is configured to adhere to a patient's skin surrounding an anatomic site. When adhered to the patient's skin, the PCM insert modifies the patient's skin at the anatomic site. The PCM insert may be removed and replaced with another PCM insert. For example, a warm PCM insert may be replaced with a refrigerated PCM insert. The opening of the outer dressing may be self-sealing. The opening of the outer dressing may be sealed with an upper layer dressing coupled to the PCM cooling insert.
