Abstract: The invention relates to a communication terminal provided with means for a user to selectively distort an acoustic signal inputted by the user to the communication terminal during a call to another user of a communication terminal. In the development of mobile communication there is a strive towards more personalised ways of communication and expression forms. Users have found out that the present means for personalisation have some limitations, and have been looking for something more advanced. In the communication between the young there is often used different kinds of fantasy-languages or other peculiar ways of addressing each other. The invention enables a user of a first communication terminal to selectively distort an acoustic signal inputted into the first communication terminal during a call with a user of a second communication terminal, where the method includes that the user of the first communication terminal inputs an acoustic signal.

Abstract: A user interface for a text entry device, comprising: a display having a first display section and a second display section, and a keypad including a set of text entry keys each having a set of characters associated therewith. The set of characters associated with each of the text entry keys being displayed in the second display section. A predictive character editor engine with associated directories is adapted to receive a string of input strokes and to output a list of matching word candidates in response thereto. A controller receives inputs from a set of text entry keys, and generates said string of input strokes for the predictive character editor. The controller presents in said first display section at least one of said matching word candidates from the predictive character editor for selection by the user.

Abstract: In the development of mobile communication there is a strive towards more personalised ways of communication and forms of expression. By using a User-to-User Signalling (UUS) supplementary service that allows a served subscriber to send/receive a limited amount of subscriber generated information to/from another user in association with a call and working parallel to the normal communication channel personalised items can be transferred during call set-up and during call. Examples of what kind of personalisation items are text messages, picture messages, animations or ringing tones.

Abstract: A communication terminal having a predictive text editor application. A communication terminal has a predictive text editor for use in a dialogue application. The communication terminal comprises a transceiver unit through which said communication terminal is connected with a network and being able to receive a dialogue input. Language information is identified in said dialogue input. A directory language is automatically selected for said predictive text editor according to the identified language. The predictive text editor uses the selected directory language for transforming a string of ambiguous keystrokes entered by the user into text for said dialogue application.

Abstract: A communication terminal having a processor, transceiver means for communication via a wireless network, and a display. The processor is adapted to generate animation in said display by displaying a sequence of images. There is provided means for editing of at least one of the images prior to the generating of the animation. There is provided means for successively displaying said sequence of images in a predetermined order and with predetermined intervals between the images.

Abstract: A method of providing access to network addresses for use in a mobile telecommunications device allowing navigation between different addresses and displaying of information therefrom, comprises compiling a first list of addresses bookmarked by a user and then compiling a second list of bookmarks selected on the basis of previous access by the user to said addresses via said first list. The second list may comprise the bookmarked addresses accessed most recently by the user, which will often be those most frequently used. However, the second list may instead comprise the addresses most frequently accessed by the user. The list may further contain entries corresponding to network addresses accessed by the user typing in the address. The provision of a second, selective list of addresses allows a user to access a favourite network address without scrolling through large numbers of bookmarks.

Abstract: A method of entering characters into a text string by means of a non-ambiguous word editor, includes that a user provides a key stroke by pressing one of a plurality of alpha-numeric keys for selecting a character group comprising a plurality of characters for entering a desired character included in this group. Then a character from said character group is displayed upon detection of the keystroke. The user is allowed to scroll through the character included in the character group for appointing the desired character. Finally the user selects the appointed character to be inserted into the entered text.

Abstract: A communication terminal handling caller information received from a calling communication terminal, comprises a processor controlling a phonebook database containing phone numbers and associated identification information. Upon detection of an incoming call, the processor analyses whether caller information is provided in association with said incoming call. The processor temporarily stores said caller information if present. The processor compares said caller information with the identification information being present in the phonebook database, and the processor provides means for the user to store parts of the caller information as identification information in said phonebook database.

The controller arranges the stored settings as groups which each define a phone mode selectable by the user. Each mode is associated with at least one control parameter. Also, the terminal (100) comprises display means (150) for presenting short messages to a user of the terminal (100), and one message folder (220) to place and/or store location independent short messages in. The folder (220) is provided on the display means (150), and having sorting means to select location independent short messages upon receiving/sending a location independent short message. The sorting means sorts a message automatically into the folder (220), when the identification means in the location independent short message is recognized by the sorting means.

Abstract: A communication unit with a recovering management terminal for handling deleted items, and having means to recover and re-install deleted items in their original location. In communications units there has long been a need for better handling of deleted items as well as easier procedures for deleting items. With the claimed invention a user of a communication unit will easily delete items of any kind without the need for numerous confirmations to make certain the user really wants to delete the selected item. If the user should unintentionally delete an item or later regrets a deletion he/she can with the claimed recovering management terminal recover and re-install the item in its original location.

Abstract: A communication terminal comprises display device for displaying information and connector for establishing a releasable connection to an exchangeable smart card. The smart card includes a phonebook memory having a group of records each of which is associated with a record identification number, a name label field in which a name label may be stored and a dialing umber field in which a dialing number may be stored. The processor device processes the phonebook information to be displayed in the display upon request from the user. The processor device identifies records in said group of records having name labels corresponding to the name label requested, associates the dialing numbers of the identified records with type labels in dependence of the corresponding record identification number and sets up a display image for the display in which the types of the dialing numbers are indicated by the associated type label.

Abstract: A phone including a CPU controlling a plurality of applications, a working storage that holds data and programs used in said applications and storage means acting as a clipboard when copying and pasting data from one application to another. Via the keyboard of the phone data contained in one application may be selected for copying to a clipboard. The CPU identifies predetermined types of subitems in the contents of the data copied to the clipboard. When pasting, said types of subitems may be displayed for individual pasting from the clipboard into the position in said another application appointed by the pasting command.

An element is either having a continues length presenting a length which is equal to or greater than the size of said display, or a wrapped length presenting a length which is less than the size of said display. The display is further provided with a user interface having a menu structure of items. The user interface is provided with a selectable continues length item and/or a wrapped length item. The information is displayed according to the selection made in the menu structure of the user interface, in order to allow the user to toggle between continuos length and wrapped length.

Abstract: A telephone handset comprises a front surface with a display and a keypad. The keypad includes a group of keys for entering alphanumeric signs and a key for navigating a cursor in the display. The navigation key is placed in the front surface of the phone between the display and the group of alphanumeric keys, and it includes a roller body which extends partly though an opening in the front surface of the phone. The roller body is essentially cylindrical with a length and diameter of the same size as the width of the keys in said group of keys for entering alphanumeric signs.
