Upon detection of an incoming call, the processor analyses whether caller information is provided in association with said incoming call. The processor temporarily stores said caller information, if present. The processor compares said caller information with the identification information already present in the phonebook database, and the processor provides means for the user to store in a database of the communication terminal parts of the caller information not present in the database as identification information associated with the caller, the database including at least a phonebook database.

The processor receives an additional call(s)/message(s) and determines if these calls/messages are sent from the same user of an electronic device as a previous call/message within a time period. If a previous call/message was missed by a user of a terminal, the processor causes a ringer to increase the volume of a subsequent call/message sent from the user of the electronic device. If a previous call/message was rejected by a user of a terminal, the processor causes the ringer to decrease the volume of a subsequent call/message sent from the user of the electronic device.

While watching television with sub-titles activated, a terminal user may be offered a short-cut and/or one or more options which will use a current (or recently occurring) subtitle for other purposes. A user may be given an opportunity to use the subtitle text for sending the subtitle as message, storing the subtitle as a calendar note, etc. In accordance with another embodiment, subtitles of media content running in the background on a media content receiver terminal may be scanned based on configurable criteria input by a user.
