  • Publication number: 20170192010
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for detecting sulfenylation within thiol groups in proteins, metabolites, or materials. Protein sulfenylation (Cys-SOH) describes the reversible post-translational modification of protein thiols by hydrogen peroxide, and plays a central role in oxidative signaling (see, e.g., Paulsen, C. E. & Carroll, K. S. 2013 Chemical Reviews 113, 4633-679). Growth factor stimulation activates NADPH oxidase enzymes, releasing a local burst of hydrogen peroxide, which transiently oxidizes the nuclcophilic cysteine of protein phosphatases and other proximal redox active thiols (see, e.g., Paulsen, C. E. et al., 2012 Nature Chemical Biology 8, 57-64). In addition to masking functional cysteine's, sulfenylation is also a aitical intermediate towards irreversible cysteine oxidation.

  • Publication number: 20170034016
Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for analyzing and managing time series workload data are provided. Example embodiments provide a Data Management and Analysis platform that enables end users to modernize their system configurations to incorporate external services techniques, such as cloud technologies, and to utilize virtualization technologies to host some of their functions in a manner that improves the overall performance of their configurations. This may be particularly useful in an IT environment with many interdependent systems where it is hard to analyze and determine where externally hosted or hybrid (e.g., both remote and local) systems might improve the overall delivery of services and cost to end users.

  • Publication number: 20160155190
Abstract: In one preferred embodiment of the invention, the method for modifying a loan against property that embodies negative equity includes: identifying a summation of current outstanding monies owed by a borrower(s) of a loan, identifying the current value of the property against which a loan has been originated, determining whether the summation of outstanding monies owed is greater than the current value of the property, identifying whether there is mutual desire between a loan borrower(s) and lender to forgive a quantity of the summation of outstanding monies owed, determining the timing and terms under which a quantity of outstanding monies owed by the borrower(s) may be forgiven, and executing the forgiveness.

  • Publication number: 20150294528
Abstract: A system and method for a bingo game with a multiplier. A first draw selects a group of numbers from a total game pool that are used to complete a matrix on one or more bingo cards. A second draw selects a subset of the group of numbers as winning numbers. If the winning numbers are configured in a predefined winning pattern on one or more of the bingo cards, that card is a winner. Selection among multiple winning patterns is performed and a multiplier may also be applied to a winning pattern. The multiplier may be randomly assigned. The bingo game is offered on an electronic gaming machine such as a video based slot machine, but may also be deployed in other forms such as on a general purpose computing device in stand-alone form or connected to a network such as the internet.

  • Patent number: 9131842
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein use near field communications to locate a set of antennas attached to, coupled with, or near the patient. A signal emitted by an antenna in the set of antennas can be received by the other antennas in the set. A second signal can be further transmitted from another antenna in the set. The differential phase and/or time shifts between the antennas from the multiple signal transmissions can contain sufficient information to find the locations of the antennas in antenna centric coordinates. The antenna locations can then be used to find a location of a pill transmitter swallowed by the patient.

  • Patent number: 9128244
Abstract: A system and method for visually transforming an electronic image is provided. The electronic image may be displayed on a high-definition flat display screen and manipulated to appear as a work of art via a layered material. Embodiments include processing the electronic image to provide an electronically pre-filtered image, displaying the pre-filtered image on a display screen, and physically filtering the displayed, pre-filtered image with the layered material to reduce light emission, add texturing, and enhance the passage of a wavelength of light.

  • Publication number: 20150196229
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein use near field communications to locate a radiating transponder, such as a pill swallowed by a patient. The system can be triggered to turn on and transmit a waveform to a set of antennas attached to, coupled with, or near the patient. The magnetic field emitted by the transponder can be measured by the receiving antennas, for example, using principles of mutual inductance. The differential phase and/or time shifts between the antennas can contain sufficient information to find the location of the transponder and optionally its orientation relative to body coordinates. The system can display the location and/or orientation of the transponder. Further, the pill can include a reservoir to deliver a payload at a particular site of the patient's body based at least in part on the determined location.

  • Publication number: 20150112189
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein can use near field communications to locate a radiating transmitter, such as a pill transmitter swallowed by a patient. In some embodiments, the pill transmitter can include multiple transmitting elements configured to transmit signals in an axis orthogonal with respect to each other. Further, in some embodiment, the pill transmitter can also include multiple transmitting elements in each of the three axes where the three axes may be perpendicular with respect to each other. The magnetic field emitted from the pill transmitter can be measured by the receiving antennas, for example, using principles of mutual inductance.

  • Publication number: 20150019571
Abstract: Relay of information from technical documentation by contact center workers to assist clients is limited by industry standard storage formats and query mechanisms. A method is disclosed for processing technical documents and tagging them against a Telecom Hardware domain ontology. The method comprises classical ontological Natural Language Processing (NLP) approaches to extract information from both text segments and tables, identifying text segments, named entities and relations between named entities described by an existing T-Box. A method for scoring candidate object property assertions derived from text before populating the Telecom Hardware ontology is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20150013791
Abstract: A valve body in a passage of a housing connected to a through hole in a sealed machine casing can allow an inspection apparatus into an interior of the casing when open, and prevents fluid flow through the passage when closed. Seals can engage the inspection apparatus to prevent fluid flow through the passage during inspection or inspection apparatus movement. A guide conduit in the casing can include branches and can guide the inspection apparatus to multiple inspection sites. Guide marks can identify the branches to assist with navigation within the casing.
