  • Publication number: 20240067326
Abstract: An aircraft wing is disclosed having a main fixed wing portion and a wing tip device at a tip thereof. The wing tip device is configurable between a flight configuration and a ground configuration, in which ground configuration the wing tip device is moved away from the flight configuration such that the span of the aircraft wing is reduced. A hinge arrangement connects the main fixed wing portion and the wing tip device and enables the wing tip device to rotate between the ground configuration and the flight configuration. The hinge arrangement protrudes beyond an outer surface of the main fixed wing portion and wing tip device. A fairing covers at least part of the hinge arrangement on at least a suction side of the wing.

  • Patent number: 11199331
Abstract: An oven including a chamber defining an oven cavity with an open front. A rack assembly is slidable between a retracted position and an extended position relative to the chamber. A door is provided for closing the open front. A hinge assembly connects the door to the rack assembly. The hinge assembly allows the door to slide between a first position and a second position with respect to the rack assembly. The hinge assembly includes a lock assembly for locking the rack assembly in the extended position. The lock assembly is moveable between a locked position and an unlocked position. The lock assembly is in the unlocked position when the door is in the first position thereby allowing the rack assembly to freely moved, and the lock assembly is in the locked position when the door is in the second position thereby securing the rack assembly in the extended position.

  • Publication number: 20200308066
Abstract: CMC articles and methods for forming CMC articles are provided. In one example aspect, a method for forming a CMC article includes forming a CMC preform defining a first section and a second section. The first section has one or more plies that include sacrificial fibers. The second section of the CMC preform does not include sacrificial fibers. The first and second sections can be laid up to form the CMC prior to thermally processing, e.g., consolidation, firing, and infiltration. When the CMC preform is fired or burned out, the sacrificial fibers are removed or decomposed resulting in formation of channels within the first section of the pyrolyzed CMC preform. The channels are used as gas transport paths during chemical vapor infiltration to facilitate infiltration of a gaseous infiltrant into the fired CMC preform. The channels are then backfilled with a liquid infiltrant during a melt infiltration process.

  • Patent number: 10685283
Abstract: A pipeline system for time-series data forecasting using a distributed computing environment is disclosed herein. In one example, a pipeline for forecasting time series is generated. The pipeline represents a sequence of operations for processing the time series to produce modeling results such as forecasts of the time series. The pipeline includes a segmentation operation for categorizing the time series into multiple demand classes based on demand characteristics of the time series. The pipeline also includes multiple sub-pipelines corresponding to the multiple demand classes. Each of the sub-pipelines applies a model strategy to the time series in the corresponding demand class. The model strategy is selected from multiple candidate model strategies based on predetermined relationships between the demand classes and the candidate model strategies. The pipeline is executed to determine the modeling results for the time series.
