  • Publication number: 20120118242
Abstract: An absorbent composition is manufactured and used in cat litter. The composition includes: a particulate inorganic mineral, one or more superabsorbent polymers (SAP) dispersed between the particles of the mineral, and a hydrophilic binder capable of binding the mineral and the SAP into discrete granules. The granular material produced has water absorbency characteristics comparable to that of more expensive bentonite-products. The mineral may be waste quarry fines that would otherwise have to be disposed of. Such fines are widely available, in contrast to bentonite that must be shipped from a restricted number of locations, which is environmentally damaging and associated with excessive product miles. The granules can be made by mixing the mineral and the super absorbent polymer to form a slurry, draining the water from the slurry and optionally pressing the resulting filter cake, mixing the binder with the wet filter cake and granulating the resulting composition.

  • Publication number: 20120111362
Abstract: A floor cleaning machine is described having a first drive head and a second drive head which are both pivotally mounted to a deck. The first and second drive heads are connected together with a link rod. The cleaning width of the cleaning machine can be changed by pivoting the first drive head about a pivot point on the deck. The pivoting movement of the first drive head causes a movement of the second drive head, via the link rod, in order to provide a new separation for the drive heads.

  • Patent number: 8150922
Abstract: A single content region in a chat history display is used to display entries representative of a plurality of messages corresponding to all chat histories for all of chat threads currently engaged in by a given mobile terminal. Additionally, a buddy list display supports management of chat buddies, a detail view display allows otherwise truncated messages to be displayed, and a text message editor display supports the composition of text messages. Each chat user may designate public display identifiers for purposes of identification to other chat users. Additionally, each user may designate private display identifiers for each of his/her buddies, which private display identifiers may be used to replace the public display identifiers for that user's buddies when displayed on the user's mobile terminal. In this manner, the use of speech and text based group chatting and similar services in wireless communication environments is more readily enabled.

  • Patent number: 8123692
Abstract: An apparatus, system and method for adaptively controlling a frame interval between ultrasound scanning frames of an ultrasound elasticity imaging scan. The system includes a transmitter for transmitting ultrasound beams to a subject during an ultrasound elasticity imaging scan, and a receiver for receiving ultrasound beam echoes from the subject responsive to transmitted ultrasound beams. The system also includes a processor for processing a plurality of the ultrasound beam echoes to determine a strain variation of the tissue undergoing strain, calculating a value for an ultrasound scanning frame interval adapted for imaging the tissue undergoing the determined strain variation, and setting the value of the ultrasound scanning frame interval for acquiring ultrasound elasticity images of the tissue undergoing the determined strain variation.

  • Patent number: 8107923
Abstract: Systems, products, and methods are disclosed for performing a method of protecting system-provider information stored within a mobile communications device that has one or more communications ports and one or more radios. Illustratively, the method includes receiving a request to access the system-provider information, determining that the request was communicated over the air by way of a wireless telecommunications network that the mobile communications device is authorized to access, which network is accessible by way of the one or more radios; and permitting access to the system-provider information after determining that the request was communicated over the air, such that any request to modify the system-provider information by any of the one or more communications ports is denied, and only the request communicated over the air is allowed to be used to modify the system-provider information.

  • Publication number: 20120005330
Abstract: An information handling device detects that multiple flows each include a common transaction-specific identifier. The transaction-specific identifier corresponds to a transaction and is generated in response to receiving a request over a computer network. The information handling device, in turn, logs data pertaining to each of the detected plurality of flows in a storage area. When the information handling device identifies a completion of the transaction, the information handling device calculates a total cost of the transaction using the logged data pertaining to each of the plurality of flows.

  • Publication number: 20110290155
Abstract: This invention relates to a cement binder composition and to the use of the binder composition in construction products. The cement binder composition is based on MgO that absorbs CO2 when hardening. The binder composition of the present invention also comprises at least one magnesium carbonate (either hydrated or unhydrated) having the formula xMgCO3—yMg(OH)2—zH2O, wherein x is at least 1, and at least one of y or z is greater than 0. The binder composition may optionally comprise a hydroscopic material, for example NaCl. The MgO when mixed with water in the presence of the magnesium carbonate produces magnesium hydroxide that has a rosette-like morphology (as shown).
