Abstract: A technique for scheduling tasks in a storage system includes predicting excess capacity of processing resources over a known interval of time and determining a quantity of credit based on the predicted capacity. The technique further includes holding back a requested increase in the priority of one or more speed-noncritical tasks by consuming a portion of the credit and thus allowing one or more speed-critical tasks to run with undiminished access to the processing resources.

Abstract: Techniques for enhancing the security of a communication device when conducting a transaction using the communication device may include using a limited-use key (LUK) to generate a transaction cryptogram, and using a signature key to generate a signature. The transaction can be an offline data authentication transaction, and access can be granted based on authentication of the signature prior to verifying the transaction cryptogram.

Abstract: A methane oxidation device for recovering heat for re-use in oxidation, the methane oxidation device comprising; a methane oxidation unit for oxidising methane; and a heat exchanger for recovering heat for re-use in oxidation; wherein the heat exchanger comprises; an inlet arranged, in use, in fluid communication with a source of methane emissions; an outlet; at least one flow path, the at least one flow path fluidly connecting the inlet to the outlet, the at least one flow path having at least a portion passing though the methane oxidation unit; and at least one counter flow path, wherein the counter flow path is the counter of the flow path, the at least one counter flow path having at least a portion passing though the methane oxidation unit; in use, the at least one flow path and counter flow path are arranged to permit heat transfer therebetween.

Abstract: A combustor for a gas turbine includes a ceramic matrix composite (CMC) dome with a swirler mounting wall formed integral with the CMC dome, and a swirler assembly including a plurality of clevis dome attachment members for connecting the swirler assembly to the CMC dome. Bushings are arranged within a plurality of dome-side swirler assembly mounting openings of the swirler mounting wall, and the CMC dome is arranged within respective ones of the plurality of clevis dome attachment members of the swirler assembly. A swirler-dome connecting member is disposed through each of the clevis dome attachment members so as to mount the swirler assembly to the CMC dome.

The exterior face of the upper section is closed and contoured forming a left wedge and a similarly configured right wedge. Abstract: A method of forming a gas turbine engine component, the method including forming a plurality of cooling apertures in a preform structure of the component, the plurality of cooling apertures of the preform structure comprising a first cooling aperture and a second cooling aperture, wherein cross-sectional shapes of the first and second cooling apertures of the preform structure are different from one another, as measured in a same relative plane; and applying a coating to at least a portion of the preform structure to form the component, wherein a cross-sectional shape of the first and second cooling apertures of the component are approximately the same as one another, as measured in the same relative plane.

Abstract: Techniques for providing an adaptive approach to prefetching data for sequential read streams in a storage system. The techniques can include performing prefetch operations for a sequential read stream in accordance with a prefetch distance and a prefetch size, counting or otherwise keeping track of occurrences of failure scenarios in the prefetch operations while servicing the sequential read stream, and modifying or adjusting one of the prefetch distance and the prefetch size based on the occurrences of the respective failure scenarios. In this way, host input/output (IO) latency can be reduced, and IO bandwidth can be increased, in the servicing of sequential read streams by the storage system.

Abstract: An apparatus, system and method of for certifying a sensor that at least partially navigates an autonomous mobile robot. The apparatus may include at least a robot body; at least one light source resident on the robot body proximate to the sensing camera such that the at least one light source is capable of at least partially irradiating a field of view (FoV) of the sensing camera, wherein the at least one light source has characteristics substantially mated to the sensing camera; and at least one processing system that provides the at least partial navigation. The at least one processing system may execute the steps of: actuating the at least one light source at a predetermined time and for a predetermined duration; monitoring data from the sensing camera for confirmation of the actuating; calculating at least one of the latency, throughput, and reactivity of the sensing camera based on the monitoring; and at least partially navigating based on the calculating.

Abstract: A method of operating a laundry treating appliance having a tub with a terminal edge and a dual-wall basket, with outer and inner walls, the inner wall having perforations above the terminal edge, and the basket located within the tub and having at least one drain opening in a bottom of the basket. The method comprising altering a level of liquid in the tub to correspondingly alter a height of a float valve in the tub to selectively open/close the drain opening to effect a filling of liquid in the basket above the tub terminal edge when the float valve is in the closed position.

Abstract: A method and system may include receiving, via one or more sensors in a wellbore formed in a subsurface formation, measurements of a concentration of an interactive component and a concentration of a non-interactive component in a formation fluid from the subsurface formation, wherein the non-interactive component and the interactive component comprise a component in the formation fluid that is non-interactive and interactive, respectively, with respect to a drilling fluid. The method and system may further include determining a level of contamination from a drilling fluid filtrate that contaminates the formation fluid based on the non-interactive component concentration in the formation fluid and the interactive component concentration in the formation fluid.

Abstract: A method verifies the ingredients in an agricultural product or byproduct. Data packages related to compound purity are uploaded and assigned a hash within a blockchain directory. These compounds are combined according to a formula in order to create batches of a product. The formula is tracked through the system and the batches become tied to the data packages associated with the compounds found within the batch. The data packages associated with the compounds within the formula can be accessed by merchants or consumers who wish to verify the ingredients contained in the batch. This method collects data to assist with supply chain management while assuring the quality of products delivered to consumers.

The system includes logic to match the validated input address to an address in the stored records in the database and retrieve corresponding matched multi-part place identifier with at least a Where part. The Where part includes an alpha numeric identifier indicating a geometrical boundary for the matched validated input address. The system can provide the matched multi-part place identifier with at least the Where part to a user for use in further analysis.

Abstract: An electronic auction tool for generating customized quotes and real-time rankings of customized quotes for a plurality of sellers is described herein. In response to receiving a request for a product or service from a buyer that includes one or more items, one or more sellers may choose to participate in a negotiation for fulfilling the request. The system may generate default seller-specific quotes based at least in part on costs to each seller of providing the one or more items. Sellers may be given an option to accept, modify, or decline the default seller-specific quote after it is generated but before it is submitted. The seller-specific quotes are ranked based on information received up to the time of the ranking, including information obtained after commencement of the auction.

Abstract: A computerized electro-mechanical drug delivery device configured to deliver at least one dose of two or more medicaments. The device comprises a control unit. An electro-mechanical drive unit is operably coupled to the control unit and a primary reservoir for a first medicament and a secondary reservoir for a fluid agent, e.g. a second medicament.
