Publication number: 20200317880Abstract: The present invention relates to a molding made of reactive foam, wherein at least one fiber (F) is arranged partially inside the molding, i.e. is surrounded by the reactive foam. The two ends of the respective fiber (F) not surrounded by the reactive foam thus each project from one side of the corresponding molding. The reactive foam is produced by a mold foaming process. The present invention further provides a panel comprising at least one such molding and at least one further layer (S1). The present invention further provides processes for producing the moldings according to the invention from reactive foam/the panels according to the invention and also provides for the use thereof as a rotor blade in wind turbines for example.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 17, 2017Publication date: October 8, 2020Inventors: Holger Ruckdaeschel, Alexandre Terrenoire, Rene Arbter, Bangaru Dharmapuri Siramul Sampath, Peter Gutmann, Ragnar Stoll, Christophe Leon Marie Hebette, Robert Stein

Publication number: 20200041970Abstract: An adaptive hydraulic control system controls irrigation system zones using predicted valve behavior, measured pressure, recovery time, and measured flow. A pressure sensor can measure a pressure in a water line and a flow meter can measure a flow rate in the water line. The adaptive hydraulic control system monitors the pressure and the flow rate, and determines when the pressure and the flow rate are above and below target operational thresholds. When the pressure is determined to be below a minimum target threshold or the flow rate is determined to be above a maximum target threshold, the adaptive hydraulic control system identifies one or more valves in an opened position of the plurality of valves that when closed would cause the pressure and the flow rate to return within the target operational thresholds. The adaptive hydraulic control system provides instructions to change a position of the one or more identified valves.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 6, 2019Publication date: February 6, 2020Inventors: Franklin Timothy Hickenlooper, Christopher Leon Swenson, Tige H. Publication number: 20190264674Abstract: Fluid charging system can provide a higher inlet pressure than the ambient pressure for pumps intended to operated and comprises one or more subsea fluid reservoirs; one or more charge pumps configured to provide an output pressure higher than ambient pressure; various fluid conduits in fluid communication with the subsea fluid reservoirs and charge pumps; and various valves. Fluid is provided to a bladder at a first fluid pressure and fluid charging system used to provide protection for the subsea fluid reservoir and inlet conditions of the subsea pump. A second valve is used to protect the subsea fluid reservoir from pressure leaking back and a feedback loop used to protect inlet conditions of the subsea pump by setting the feedback loop valve to open near the maximum inlet condition.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2019Publication date: August 29, 2019Applicant: Oceaneering International, Inc.Inventors: Sam Almerico, Christopher Leon, Skip Smith

Patent number: 10370186Abstract: A subsea fluid storage system comprising a soft bladder disposed within a pressure balanced reservoir, a rotatable piston, and a piston rotator which rotates and twists the rotatable piston as it travels along a predetermined axis within the pressure balanced reservoir, predictably and repeatabley collapses the soft bladder when the rotating piston cooperatively travels about the piston rotator, twisting the soft bladder as the rotating piston moves along the predetermined axis, collapsing the bladder inward and thereby emptying the bladder of fluid within the bladder. The piston's rotation pulls the soft bladder away from the pressure balanced reservoir's interior, thereby preventing the bladder's binding or pinching the pressure balanced reservoir's interior. In configurations, fluid is allowed to enter the pressure balanced reservoir via a valve until a balance is achieved between an interior and an exterior of the pressure balanced reservoir.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2017Date of Patent: August 6, 2019Assignee: Oceaneering International, Inc.Inventors: Benjamin Primm, Christopher Leon, Earl Schultz

Publication number: 20190168426Abstract: The present invention relates to a molding made of reactive foam, wherein at least one fiber (F) is arranged partially inside the molding, i.e. is surrounded by the reactive foam. The two ends of the respective fiber (F) not surrounded by the reactive foam thus each project from one side of the corresponding molding. The reactive foam is produced by a double belt foaming process or a block foaming process. The present invention further provides a panel comprising at least one such molding and at least one further layer (S1). The present invention further provides processes for producing the moldings according to the invention from reactive foam/the panels according to the invention and also provides for the use thereof as a rotor blade in wind turbines for example.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 17, 2017Publication date: June 6, 2019Inventors: Holger RUCKDAESCHEL, Alexandre TERRENOIRE, Rene ARBTER, Bangaru Dharmapuri Sriramul SAMPATH, Peter GUTMANN, Ragnar STOLL, Robert STEIN, Christophe Leon Marie HEBETTE

Publication number: 20180072494Abstract: Using a subsea fluid storage system 1 comprising a soft bladder (20) disposed within a pressure balanced reservoir (10), a rotatable piston (30) disposed at least partially within the pressure balanced reservoir where a top of the soft bladder is in communication with the rotatable piston, and a piston rotator (50) operative to rotate and twist the rotatable piston as the rotatable piston travels along a predetermined axis within the pressure balanced reservoir, a predictable and repeatable collapse of the soft bladder may be obtained by allowing the rotating piston (30) to cooperatively travel about the piston rotator (50) to twist the soft bladder (20) as the rotating piston moves along the predetermined axis in such a manner as to collapse the bladder inward, thereby emptying the bladder of fluid within the bladder.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2017Publication date: March 15, 2018Applicant: Oceaneering International, Inc.Inventors: Benjamin Primm, Christopher Leon, Earl Schultz
