Patent number: 12122248Abstract: Presented are control systems for operating dual-independent drive unit (DIDU) powertrains, methods for making/operating such systems, and electric-drive vehicles with fault management and mitigation for DIDU axles. A method of operating a motor vehicle with a DIDU axle includes monitoring first and second drive units (DU) that are independently operable to drive respective road wheels via respective axle shafts of the DIDU axle. A vehicle controller receives an indication of a fault condition in the first DU from a fault sensing module and responsively determines a fault type for the fault condition. The controller ascertains the vehicle's current speed and determines a respective torque limit for each of the DIDU drive units based on the fault type and current vehicle speed. Torque output of the first DU is concomitantly constrained to a first torque limit while torque output of the second DU is constrained to a second torque limit.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2021Date of Patent: October 22, 2024Assignee: GM Global Technology Operations LLCInventors: Aubrey W. Patent number: 12098084Abstract: Devices, systems and methods for removing minerals from a conductive protonic fluid and creating oxidizers therein. A non-alternating flow of electrons in a conductive protonic fluid selectively precipitates hardness causing heavy minerals from the fluid. The decrease in hardness causing minerals leads to the protonic fluid moving towards a thermodynamic equilibrium that prevents precipitation of the noted hardness causing minerals. By-products from the process, like halogens, help oxidize other minerals and treat bio-life within the source. Systems include a vessel containing the conductive protonic fluid, a conductive protonic fluid flow mechanism, a power supply, a control mechanism, and one or more reaction chambers. The reaction chamber has at least one reaction chamber wall having a conductive surface and a conductive element.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2020Date of Patent: September 24, 2024Assignee: Dynamic Water Technologies Global, LLCInventors: Melvin Mathew, George Tuan Long Chac, Michael Christopher Boyko, Janco Vermeulen

Patent number: 12056434Abstract: Techniques for generating formatting tags for textual content obtained from a source electronic document are disclosed. A system parses a digital file to obtain information about characters in an electronic document. The system applies tags to text generated based on the textual content of the electronic document by creating segments of textually-consecutive characters and applying corresponding text formatting style tags to the segments. The system further identifies segments of text overlapping bounding boxes in the electronic document. The system generates textual content including a segment of text and a corresponding hyperlink associated with the segment of text. The system further generates textual content by selectively applying line breaks from the source electronic document in the textual content.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2023Date of Patent: August 6, 2024Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Vishank Bhatia, Xu Zhong, Thanh Long Duong, Mark Johnson, Srinivasa Phani Kumar Gadde, Vishal Vishnoi, King-Hwa Lee, Christopher Kennewick
