  • Publication number: 20070076616
Abstract: Hierarchical testing systems and methods for testing communication systems are disclosed. Testing functions which test entities such as equipment or services of a communication system are classified into testing function groups. The testing function groups have an order which is based on an order of operational dependencies in the communication system. Testing functions to be performed for a particular entity to be tested are selected from testing functions for testing the entity itself and testing functions for testing other entities that have an operational dependency with the entity to be tested. Related data structures and user interfaces are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20070059755
Abstract: A selective targeting method is disclosed which comprises contacting a peptide library with an anti-target to allow the peptides to bind; separating non-binding peptides from the anti-target bound peptides, contacting the non-binding anti-target peptides with a target allowing the unbound peptides to bind with the target to form a target-bound peptide complex; separating the target-bound peptide complex from peptides which do not bind to the target, and identifying the target-bound peptides. In one embodiment the target is skin or hair. In another embodiment the anti-target is hair when the target is skin, and the anti-target is skin when the target is hair.

  • Publication number: 20060233171
Abstract: A method and system for managing the distribution of multicast content are provided. The method involves creating a list of multicast group addresses to be made available to user units supported by a group of nodes. The list is distributed to all of the nodes in the group of nodes. Filters are created to limit the multicast content that each user unit can receive. The filters are created by referencing the list of multicast addresses previously created. The filters are distributed to the appropriate nodes and applied on customer ports.

  • Publication number: 20060196888
Abstract: A glue gun assembly has a base and a glue gun for application of an adhesive. The glue gun is removably supported by the base. The glue gun has a heating apparatus that can be heated to heat adhesive which flows out of the glue gun. The glue gun also has a temperature indicator that is movable, between positions, depending on the temperature of the heating apparatus. This indicates the temperature of the heating apparatus to the user. The base includes a support member that positions the glue gun such that an exit end of the glue gun is disposed higher than a receiving end of the glue gun. Accordingly, this reduces dripping of glue from the exit end of the glue gun.

  • Publication number: 20060191890
Abstract: A soldering assembly has a base with a support member and at least one workpiece support member to support a workpiece. A soldering iron is removably supported by the base support member. The soldering iron includes a heating element and a heatable tip heated by the heating element. The soldering iron also has a temperature indicator that is movable, between positions, depending on the temperature of the heatable tip. Thus, the soldering iron indicates the temperature of the heatable tip to a user.

  • Patent number: 7092772
Abstract: An improved home automation system that permits the user of the system to remotely control the operation of various devices including garage doors and powered entry gates. The system is packaged in a manner that “walks” the user through the initialization process to thereby reduce or eliminate errors associated with the initialization and set-up of the system. Furthermore, the configuration permits the user to initialize the system without the use of tools, such as screwdrivers. The system is configured with improved functionality that permits the user to readily control individual devices and/or selected groups of devices with a powerful hand-held universal remote transmitter.

  • Publication number: 20060140868
Abstract: A method for the preparation of magnetic nanoparticles coated with a noble metal is described. The method includes providing a first mixture containing a first non-polar organic solvent and uncoated magnetic nanoparticles. The first mixture is mixed with a second mixture containing a second non-polar organic solvent and ions comprising the noble metal to form a third mixture. The third mixture is mixed with an organic ligand or a fourth mixture containing an organic ligand to form a fifth mixture. The fifth mixture is reacted with a sixth mixture containing a reducing agent to form a seventh mixture containing the monodispersed magnetic nanoparticles coated with the noble metal. The monodispersed magnetic coated nanoparticles may be separated from the seventh mixture by adding a polar organic solvent or a mixture of polar organic solvents in which the nanoparticles are insoluble.
