  • Patent number: 11291562
Abstract: A prosthetic arm apparatus including a plurality of segments that provide a user of the prosthetic arm apparatus with substantially the same movement capability and function as a human arm. The segments are connectable to one another and connectable to a prosthetic support apparatus that may be adorned by the user. Each segment of the plurality of segments provides a portion of the movement capability, enabling the plurality of connected segments connected to the harness mount to provide substantially the same movement capability as that lacking in the user.

  • Patent number: 11278787
Abstract: Virtual and augmented reality sports training environments are disclosed. A user interacts with virtual players in a simulated environment of a virtual reality sporting event. In some embodiments, the user's actions and decisions are monitored by the simulated environment. The environment evaluates the user's performance, and provides performance feedback based on the user's decisions and timing. In one application, real life pitchers and their pitching data are tracked and replicated in a simulated pitching environment. A team of users may practice against a simulation of a pitcher they are about to compete against, swinging at pitches that they would see in a real game. Such environments may maximize effective practice time for users, and help develop better players with improved decision-making skills. Some embodiments include various pitch recognition training, which may be against replicated real-life pitchers.

  • Patent number: 11268824
Abstract: A server identifies landmarks associated with users as the users take part in trips or otherwise interact with a navigation system. The server causes presentation of the identified landmarks to the users during future trips, such as part of navigational directions along a route to a particular destination, or on a visible portion of a map user interface. Presentation of the user-specific landmarks allows the users with more context and thus the ability to better navigate.

  • Publication number: 20220031267
Abstract: A mobile imaging system or mini C-arm with an increased range of motion is disclosed. The mini C-arm including a mobile base, a C-arm assembly, and an arm assembly for coupling the C-arm assembly and the mobile base. The arm assembly being coupled to the mobile base via a first joint assembly that enables the arm assembly to move relative to the mobile base about first and second axes of rotation. Thus, in use, the first joint assembly enables two degrees of motion—a first vertical pivoting or rotational movement and a second horizontal pivoting or rotational movement. The first joint assembly being coupled to the base via a horizontal axis of rotation that is located at a vertically fixed position so that the horizontal axis of rotation is positioned at a fixed height or distance from the base, and hence a fixed height or distance from the floor.

  • Patent number: 11213460
Abstract: Improved feeding set connectors and cassettes are disclosed for use with peristaltic infusion pumps for safely delivering enteral nutritional fluids to a patient. The connectors provide an easy to use “pump-to-set” integration or “keying” system for specific reusable infusion pumps and their matching feeding sets, and can be utilized by medical professionals having various skill levels. The inventive feeding set cassettes can prevent accidental free flow of enteral fluids into a patient, even upon inadvertent release of the connector from the pumping mechanism.

  • Patent number: 11162803
Abstract: A transportation management system coordinates the transportation of riders by drivers integrated with the system. To provide control to the rider of the route used during a trip provided by a given driver, the transportation management system computes several alternative routing options between the trip's origin location and destination location. These alternative routing options may be computed according to the rider's preferences and/or based on different optimization functions that optimize various trip parameters, for example, cost, time, traffic, and distance. The rider selects one of the alternative routing options as the preferred route between the origin location and the destination location. The transportation management system automatically communicates the routing option selected by the rider to the driver without requiring the rider to personally tell the driver of her preference.

  • Publication number: 20210212903
Abstract: Feed and flush delivery devices are described for use in switching between delivery of enteral feeding fluid and flushing/hydration fluid to a patient, with both fluids being delivered through the same closed system. The delivery devices are simpler, easier to use, and are more cost effective than known prior art valves and control devices. Independent feed and flush lines are typically received by the delivery device, which merges the two lines into a single end delivery line so that either feeding or flushing fluid, but not both at the same time, can be conveyed through the end line, as desired and selected by the user. The delivery device is loaded onto the pumping mechanism of an enteral infusion pump, and can be part of a cassette which is used in combination with a particular brand of infusion pump.

  • Patent number: 11049624
Abstract: A liquid metal-cooled nuclear reactor includes, within a reactor pressure vessel, a primary electromagnetic pump (EMP) circulating liquid metal coolant through the reactor core and a backflow EMP. The nuclear reactor may be configured to at least partially mitigate liquid metal coolant backflow in response to a primary EMP failure. The backflow EMP is coupled in series with the primary EMP within the reactor pressure vessel. The backflow EMP may be selectively activated in response to failure of the primary EMP to mitigate liquid metal backflow through the primary EMP. The primary EMP and backflow EMP may receive power from separate power sources. Multiple backflow EMPs may be coupled in parallel to the primary EMP via parallel liquid metal coolant lines. A nuclear reactor may include multiple primary EMPs and multiple sets of backflow EMPs, where each separate set of backflow EMPs is coupled to a separate primary EMP.
