  • Publication number: 20220373694
Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for enabling seamlessly tracking a location of a water vessel by supplementing satellite data with mobile data location based on proximity of a water vessel to shore. The system receives a Global Positioning System (GPS) location of the water vessel, the GPS location of the water vessel based on using the satellite data of the water vessel. The system determines that the GPS location is within a threshold distance of a boundary. Responsive to determining that the GPS location is within the threshold distance of the boundary, the system initiates monitoring for a mobile signal emanating from a trajectory path of the water vessel. The system detects, during the monitoring, the mobile signal, the tracking the location of the water vessel based on mobile data of the mobile signal. The system provides the tracked location to a monitoring device.

  • Patent number: 11477756
Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for enabling assignment of a responder unit to a user on a water vessel. The rescue system transmits a Short Message Service (SMS) message to a user device on the water vessel, the SMS message comprising a selectable option that, when selected, causes a location of the user device to be shared. Based on a selection by a user of the user device of the selectable option, the system receives a plurality of location coordinates from the user device at a plurality of respective times, each respective location coordinate describing a respective location of the user device at its respective time. The system selects a responder unit to assign to the user based on the plurality of location coordinates and a location of each of a plurality of candidate responder units. The system transmits location information to a responder device of the selected responder unit, the location information based on the plurality of location coordinates.

  • Publication number: 20220327765
Abstract: Disclosed approaches may leverage the actual spatial and reflective properties of a virtual environment—such as the size, shape, and orientation of a bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) lobe of a light path and its position relative to a reflection surface, a virtual screen, and a virtual camera—to produce, for a pixel, an anisotropic kernel filter having dimensions and weights that accurately reflect the spatial characteristics of the virtual environment as well as the reflective properties of the surface. In order to accomplish this, geometry may be computed that corresponds to a projection of a reflection of the BRDF lobe below the surface along a view vector to the pixel. Using this approach, the dimensions of the anisotropic filter kernel may correspond to the BRDF lobe to accurately reflect the spatial characteristics of the virtual environment as well as the reflective properties of the surface.

  • Publication number: 20220318731
Abstract: Examples provides on-hand inventory accuracy using radio frequency identification (RFID) tag data and expected populations of items for a plurality of sub-locations within a scan area. The system calculates a dynamic expected population of items value for each sub-location using item level data and modular display data for an item assortment assigned to a modular display within each sub-location. If the items detected by the RFID tag data match the expected population of items with a minimum confidence level, the system provides user feedback in the form of status indicators and/or accuracy indicators on a user interface. The feedback can also include audio feedback. If a discrepancy is detected, the system requests a rescan of each sub-location having a detected discrepancy. The system disallows update of on-hand inventory data using the RFID tag data if the discrepancy remains unresolved after the second scan and/or requests a manual verification.

  • Patent number: 11429345
Abstract: Techniques for remotely executing a secondary-device driver for generating commands for a secondary device are described herein. For instance, a secondary device (or “appliance”) may reside within an environment, along with a device to which the secondary device communicatively couples. The device may be configured to send control signals to the secondary device for causing the secondary device to perform certain operations. For instance, a user in the environment may provide, to the device, a request that the secondary device perform a certain operation. The device, which may lack some or all of a device driver associated with the secondary device, may then work with a remote service that executes the device driver for the purpose of receiving a command from the device driver and sending the command along to the secondary device. Upon receiving the command, the secondary device may perform the operation.

  • Publication number: 20220245171
Abstract: Updates to a hierarchical data structure may be selectively replicated to other replicas of the hierarchical data structure. An update for a hierarchical data structure may be received and committed to the hierarchical data structure. A determination as to whether any other replicas of the hierarchical data structure have permission to receive the update may be made. For those replicas of the hierarchical data structure with permission to receive the update, the update may be provided to the replicas and committed to the replicas. Different types of replication techniques may be implemented, such as pull-based replication techniques or push-based replication techniques. Replication permissions for objects of the hierarchical data structure may be individually defined, in some embodiments.
