  • Publication number: 20210208141
Abstract: Cells produce electrophilic products with the potential to modify and affect the function of proteins. Chemoproteomic methods have provided a means to qualitatively inventory proteins targeted by endogenous electrophiles; however, ascertaining the potency and specificity of these reactions to identify the most sensitive sites in the proteome to electrophilic modification requires more quantitative methods. Here, we describe a competitive activity-based profiling method for quantifying the reactivity of electrophilic compounds against 1000+ cysteines in parallel in the human proteome. Using this approach, we identify a select set of proteins that constitute “hot spots” for modification by various lipid-derived electrophiles, including the oxidative stress product 4-hydroxynonenal (HNE).

  • Publication number: 20210190593
Abstract: A polarization sensor is described. It includes a quarter-wave plate to convert circularly polarized light into linearly polarized light. The quarter-wave plate is realized as a metasurface. The sensor also includes a linear polarizer to analyze the light generated by the quarter-wave plate, and a photodetector to receive the analyzed light. The sensor may be combined with other linear polarization sensors to form a sensor capable of complete measurement of the polarization state of incident light. An array of these sensors can be integrated directly onto image sensors to form a polarimetric imager.

  • Patent number: 10311744
Abstract: A cognitive training method has a step of obtaining sensor data of a subject during a memory exercise which in turn determines whether the sensor data includes predetermined information indicative of cognitive functions used for remembering. The step of advancing the memory exercise is carried out when it is determined that the sensor data includes predetermined information indicative of cognitive functions used for remembering. The step of calculating an objective cognitive assessment of the subject is carried out when the memory exercise is completed and cognitive training is measured at least partially in response to the advancing of the memory exercise. The fact that an objective cognitive assessment is calculated provides a method of using an autodidactic cognitive training device.

  • Publication number: 20190104635
Abstract: A bezel lock system includes a bezel, convert bracket (CB), and lock. The bezel attaches to a chassis panel. The CB slideably secures a latching bracket (LB) of the bezel to a chassis, when in a locked position. The CB slides a length of a release gap along a transverse path from the locked position to a released position. The lock restricts removal of the bezel from the chassis when the lock is engaged in a locked orientation (LO). The lock includes a cam bracket (CamB) that rotates between locked and unlocked orientations. In the LO, the CamB constrains the CB from moving inward on the path by abutting the CB; CB is confined between the LB and CamB. In the unlocked orientation, the CamB is disposed out of the CB's path, allowing the CB to retract inward to the release position, which allows the bezel to detach from the panel.

  • Publication number: 20190005149
Abstract: A memory is configured to store a dataset and a processor is configured to map the dataset to a plurality of objects. The objects are represented by corresponding values of a plurality of non-negative elements. The processor is also configured to construct a bipartite graph including a plurality of first nodes associated with the plurality of objects and a plurality of second nodes associated with the plurality of non-negative elements. The first nodes are linked to the second nodes by edges having weights equal to values of the non-negative elements that represent the corresponding first node. The processor is further configured to determine similarity values that indicate degrees of similarity between the plurality of objects based on a diffusion of a fluid mass through the bipartite graph according to the weights of the edges.
