  • Patent number: 6304343
Abstract: A dust-proof mechanism for optical reflection module of an image scanner is disclosed. The dust-proof plate is disposed at an open area of the optical reflection module. Each lateral end of the dust-proof plate is disposed with a shaft rod pivotally fitted in a shaft hole formed on a lateral inner wall of the optical reflection module. The direction of the dust-proof plate is parallel to the direction of the reflection mirror of the optical reflection module. When the scanner performs the scanning operation, the dust-proof plate is positioned at an opened position. When the scanner does not perform the scanning operation, the dust-proof plate shields the open area of the optical reflection module so as to isolate suspending dust from passing through the open area of the optical reflection module and attaching to the mirror surface of the reflection mirror.

  • Patent number: 5995438
Abstract: A synchronous dynamic RAM capable of segmentally precharging each memory bank. In this SDRAM, each memory bank is divided into multiple memory blocks. Each of these memory blocks internally has its own row access circuitry, but performs independent precharging operation. Access to the memory bank can be cooperative externally, and precharge operation can be separately applied to these memory blocks while allowing utilization of row cache that is available on other blocks. The SDRAM further includes a control device for generating a dedicated precharge signal to each memory block according to a precharge signal for each memory bank. Each dedicated precharge signal independently precharges the corresponding memory block regardless of the access operations executed by other memory blocks.

  • Patent number: 5937088
Abstract: An improved apparatus for reducing memory usage of look-up table mapping in an imaging system, a method related to the apparatus is also disclosed. The apparatus receives a digital input signal and processes it through a two-step mapping procedures instead of conventional skill that it uses only one look-up table, each procedure provides a series of mapping outputs. A comparing unit composed of a lot of logical gates is then comparing those mappings with original input signal and choosing the best one for preparing a final output. Finally, a final output corresponding to the best choice is providing for displaying.
