  • Patent number: 7355948
Abstract: A detector for detecting information carried by a signal having a sawtooth-like shape. The detector includes a low-pass filter for receiving the wobble signal and filtering the wobble signal to generate a filtered signal, a comparator for comparing the wobble signal with the filtered signal and generating a compared signal, and a detecting unit for receiving the compared signal and generating a bit signal according to the duty cycle of the compared signal. The bit signal is a first value when the duty cycle of the compared signal is greater than a predetermined value, and the bit signal is a second value when the duty cycle of the compared signal is smaller than the predetermined value.

  • Publication number: 20080069187
Abstract: A BOC signal acquisition and tracking apparatus and method. In the present invention, a BOC subcarrier, a QBOC subcarrier and harmonics thereof are used as subcarriers. Those subcarriers can be mixed with a received signal and integration result of each mixing result is calculated. Then, all the integration results are combined as a combined correlation. Alternatively, those subcarriers can be combined as a synthesized subcarrier. The synthesized subcarrier is mixed with the received signal, and the integration of the mixing result is calculated to obtain a synthesized correlation.

  • Publication number: 20080057884
Abstract: A programmable direct RF digitization receiver for multiple RF signal bands such as GNSS bands and other wireless communication bands. The receiver has a programmable frequency provision unit. The programmable frequency provision unit provides a shared sampling frequency or respective sampling frequencies based on selected bands so that the receiver can executes digitization to down-convert received signals of the selected bands with the sampling frequency or frequencies. By using the receiver of the present invention, different band combinations can be supported with great flexibility. In addition performance such as SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) can be fine tuned by adjusting the separation of down-converted IF bands.

  • Publication number: 20080037687
Abstract: A method of direct RF digitization for multiple RF signal bands such GNSS or wireless communication signal bands and a receiver using the method. By using the method, an optimal sampling frequency to be used in direct RF digitization for signals of multiple RF signal bands can be easily obtained. According to the present invention, one or more of the RF signal bands are selected to be shifted to target band(s). By doing so, the optimal sampling frequency can be easily calculated. Then the obtained sampling frequency is used in executing the direct RF digitization.

  • Publication number: 20080013518
Abstract: A satellite signal adaptive time-division multiplexing receiving device is disclosed. The receiving device operates in time-division multiplexing distributed for various domains such as satellite number, Doppler frequency, code phase and accuracy. When some specific time slots of the time-division multiplexing distribution are unnecessary to be searched, the receiving device uses a disable signal to deactivate specific components such as correlator and memory thereof during those time slots to reduce power consumption.

  • Publication number: 20070247356
Abstract: A satellite signal adjustable time-division multiplexing receiver for GNSS and a method for acquiring and tracking satellite signal used in the receiver. The present invention executes correlation in an adjustable time-division multiplexing and uses a clock signal with a clock rate to control speed of correlation. The clock rate can be fixed or variable. In the case that the clock rate is variable, when the speed is required to be fast (e.g. in satellite acquisition mode), the clock rate is set to be high clock rate; when the speed needs not be so fast (e.g. in signal tracking mode), the clock rate can be lower down to reduce power consumption. The adjustable time-division multiplexing is arranged for respective domains such as visible satellite, code phase, Doppler frequency and tracking accuracy according to the clock rate.

  • Patent number: 7260050
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting physical marks from a wobble signal includes a matching value operation unit, a threshold value generator and a physical mark indicator. A wobble signal is converted into a matched signal by the matching value operation unit according to the waveform difference between a normal clock signal or a specific matching reference signal and itself, wherein the matching reference signal needs to highlight the existed physical mark. The physical mark indicator designates a threshold value that depends on the status of the wobble signal, and compares the matched signal with the threshold value to output a physical mark indication signal. The threshold value is selected from at least two different default values. Furthermore, a decoder is employed to convert the physical mark indication signal into wobble data with physical address information.

  • Publication number: 20070163595
Abstract: A face mask includes a hollow mask body, a crosswise strap having two ends secured to two sides of the mask body, and a lengthwise strap having a first end secured to an upper portion of the mask body and a second end extended through a mediate portion of the crosswise strap and removably attached to a face of the lengthwise strap. Thus, the crosswise strap and the lengthwise strap form an intersecting face which holds the user's head closely so that the mask body is fit on the user's head snugly to prevent the face mask from slipping from the user's head due to a larger action, such as violent vibration or impact.

  • Publication number: 20060274821
Abstract: Methods and systems for detecting bit synchronization boundary in a received signal. A counter is set for defining a bit boundary of the received signal. Transitions in the received signal are detected and compared with the counter value as the transitions are expected to occur only at the bit boundary. The bit boundary is confirmed if a preset number of transitions aligned with the bit boundary.

  • Publication number: 20060153278
Abstract: An ear thermometer has a main body, and a probe projected from the main body. The ear thermometer has a casing, a sensor module and a plastic tube. The casing has an opening formed in a front side thereof. The sensor module is installed inside the casing. The plastic tube is installed between the casing and the sensor module for positioning the sensor module inside the casing. The probe has an opening formed in a front side thereof for receiving the infrared radiation in a predetermined range. Hence, the sensor module is used to measure true radiation heat from a subject, and prevents the sensor module from measuring an object other than the subject.
