  • Patent number: 8756944
Abstract: A heat transfer device and its manufacturing method are provided. The heat transfer device has a heat transfer member defining a heat exchange surface with which a heat transportable medium contact in use and via which heat is transferable between the heat transportable medium and a working medium, and a device body for containing the heat transportable medium. The body of the device defines a first chamber, a second chamber and a third chamber which are in fluid communicable relationship. The body is configured to allow the heat transportable medium fluid to pass from the second chamber to the first chamber and then to the third chamber, or from the third chamber to the first chamber and then to the second chamber, and the second chamber is sandwiched or positioned between the first chamber and the third chamber in the body.

  • Patent number: 8295292
Abstract: In one embodiment, a reassign command is received for reassigning a first node identified by a first global identifier (GID) from a first context identified by a first context ID (CID) to a second context identified by a second CID, the first and second contexts representing first and second linked lists, respectively. A walk-the-chain (WTC) command having the first GID and the first CID is issued to a first linked list processor. The first linked list processor is configured to access one or more nodes of the first context in an attempt to dequeue the first node from the first context. An enqueue command having the first GID and the second CID is issued to a second linked list processor. The second linked list processor is configured to insert the first node to the second context. The first and second linked list processors are cascaded to form a pipeline.

  • Patent number: 7236143
Abstract: A system, an apparatus and a method for configuring a display ID are provided. The system comprises a setting unit, a plurality of displays and a plurality of switches. Wherein, the displays are electrically coupled to the setting unit, and the switches are configured in between the setting unit and its corresponding display. Each of the switches corresponds to one of the displays, and is turned on or turned off by its corresponding display. When the setting unit issues a setting ID instruction, all of the switches is turned on by its corresponding display. Thereafter, the setting unit issues a plurality of identification configuration instructions. By sequentially turning off each of the switches, the ID of the corresponding display can be configured by each of the ID configuration instructions.

  • Patent number: 7005849
Abstract: A system (10) and method for high-speed massive magnetic imaging on a spin-stand (12) is provided. The system (10) includes a spin-stand system (12) for driving a rotational spindle (20) to which a magnetic hard disk (30) is mounted. A magnetic read head (40) reads data from disk (30) and is in electrical communication with a universal head preamplification board (50). The universal head preamplification board (50) outputs readable voltage signals which are transmitted to an oscilloscope (60) for displaying a read-back voltage display (70). The signals are processed by a processing means (90) to generate scanned image data (100) on a display means. The display signals (70) are utilized to calibrate the magnetically read data to account for the eccentricity of the hard disks with respect to the center of rotation of the spin-stand spindle. Whole tracks of hard disk data can be imaged through the process of “track-centering” and “track-following”.

  • Patent number: 7002762
Abstract: In recovering data originally written on a carrier of magnetic media after a catastrophic failure, data may be read without prior knowledge of the write channel by which the data was originally written and in the presence of intersymbol interference of the readback signal. This is accomplished by forming an image of the spatial response function of the magnetoresistive transducer used to recover the data and by forming an image of the raw data read from the carrier of magnetic media by the magnetoresistive transducer for which the response function has been characterized. An image of the distribution of virtual magnetic charge on the carrier of magnetic media is obtained through deconvolution of the image of the response function of the magnetoresistive transducer and the raw readback signal. The readback signal corresponding to the data originally written on the carrier of magnetic media is then recovered by spatial differentiation of the image of virtual magnetic charge.

  • Patent number: 6973193
Abstract: An exciting sound wave generator is positioned within a nacelle of a jet engine at its inlet to generate an exciting sound wave having a primary frequency generally different from a frequency of the primary tone of the noise. The exciting sound wave is used to modulate the primary tone of the noise and, therefore, distribute sound energy of the noise from the primary tone to a broad range of side bands so that the amplitude of the primary tone of the noise is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6863491
Abstract: A new and improved wafer support for supporting wafers in a process chamber such as an edge bead removal (EBR) chamber. The wafer support comprises multiple wafer support units each including a gripper block that engages an edge portion or bevel of the wafer. The gripper block is attached to an engaging and disengaging mechanism for selectively causing engagement of the gripper blocks with the wafer to support the wafer and disengagement of the gripper blocks from the wafer to release the wafer for removal of the wafer from the chamber. The gripper blocks contact little or none of the surface area on the patterned surface of the wafer to prevent or substantially reduce the formation of contact-induced defects on the wafer.
