  • Patent number: 8760475
Abstract: A method of dynamically adjusting screen brightness is adapted for a screen to adjust the screen brightness. First, an original ambient light level and an original brightness adjustment factor are determined. Then, a relationship curve of an ambient light level and a brightness adjustment factor is determined. The current ambient light level is continuously monitored and compared with the original ambient light level to determine if the current ambient light level is equal to the original ambient light level. If not equal, a brightness adjustment factor corresponding to the current ambient light level is obtained based on the relationship curve, and the screen brightness is adjusted based on the brightness adjustment factor. The obtained screen brightness and the corresponding brightness adjustment factor are set to be the original screen brightness and the original brightness adjustment factor, and thus the background brightness is monitored again and the screen brightness is adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20140152270
Abstract: A current compensation module, a charging apparatus, and a charging apparatus controlling method are disclosed. The current compensation module is used for controlling an outputted charging current in order to charge a battery module. The current compensation module includes a transition unit, a proportional controlling unit, and an integral controlling unit. The transition unit allows an internal signal of the current compensation module increasing from a first voltage. When the internal signal attains to a second voltage, the proportional controlling unit will output a proportional controlling signal to adjust the charging current. When the charging current attains to a rated output current, the integral controlling unit incorporates with the proportional controlling unit to output a proportional-integral controlling signal in order to control and adjust the charging current for the battery module, and to suppress the output overshoot current of the charging apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20140035507
Abstract: The present invention discloses a motor deceleration method which is applied to a motor driving apparatus. The motor driving apparatus includes an energy-storing unit and a controlling unit, and outputs a driving signal to control the motor. The controlling unit controls a driving frequency of the driving signal. The driving deceleration method includes following steps of controlling the driving frequency to zero; increasing the driving frequency in a linear way by using the controlling unit; detecting whether a terminal voltage difference of the energy-storing unit is increased to a preset voltage value, and if yes, adjusting the driving signal to keep the terminal voltage difference at the preset voltage value; and reducing the driving frequency continuously to decelerate the motor.

  • Patent number: 8095332
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for pre-heating a hard disk drive of a computer device, wherein a temperature sensor and a heater are arranged at preset locations outside the computer device. The temperature sensor detects an external temperature of the hard disk drive, which is compared with an activation temperature threshold stored in a data memory unit of the computer device. The activation temperature threshold is calibrated by a preset compensation value stored in the data memory unit. When the external temperature of the hard disk drive subtracting the preset compensation value is less than the activation temperature threshold of the hard disk drive, the activation of the hard disk drive is prohibited and the heater carries out heating on the hard disk drive until the activation temperature threshold of the hard disk drive is reached; thereafter, the hard disk drive is activated again.

  • Patent number: 8084986
Abstract: A dead-time compensation method is applied to a PWM inverter, which is provided to drive an induction motor using a constant V/f control. The method first calculates a root-mean-square current of the output instantaneous current of the inverter. Afterward, a lookup table of the root-mean-square current is used to obtain a dead-time compensation base voltage and a dead-time compensation per-unit voltage. Finally, the dead-time compensation base voltage is multiplied by the dead-time compensation per-unit voltage to produce a dead-time compensation voltage of the PWM inverter. Accordingly, the method reduces complexity of converting the current to the voltage to reach a faster real-time response. Furthermore, a more accurate dead-time compensation voltage is obtained without increasing hardware costs and the efficiency of operating the induction motor is improved at low speed and light load condition.

  • Patent number: 8031446
Abstract: A method of detecting an output phase loss (OPHL) for a motor drive detects an abnormal OPHL operation when at least one phase of a three-phase current is continually zero. Each phase of the three-phase current is acquired, sampled, filtered, and compared. Hence, a corresponding zero-current counter value is continually added, and a corresponding abnormal current value is set as logic 1 when a zero-phase current of the three-phase current is continually zero. Finally, an OPHL certified value is set as logic 1 to confirm that the motor driver is operated in the abnormal OPHL operation. Therefore, a direct-current and an alternating-current OPHL can be detected before and after the motor driver is operated, respectively.
