  • Publication number: 20090204969
Abstract: Strong semantics are provided to programs that are correctly synchronized in their use of transactions by using dynamic separation of objects that are accessed in transactions from those accessed outside transactions. At run-time, operations are performed to identify transitions between these protected and unprotected modes of access. Dynamic separation permits a range of hardware-based and software-based implementations which allow non-conflicting transactions to execute and commit in parallel. A run-time checking tool, analogous to a data-race detector, may be provided to test dynamic separation of transacted data and non-transacted data. Dynamic separation may be used in an asynchronous I/O library.

  • Publication number: 20080291139
Abstract: A method of dynamically adjusting screen brightness is adapted for a screen to adjust the screen brightness. First, an original ambient light level and an original brightness adjustment factor are determined. Then, a relationship curve of an ambient light level and a brightness adjustment factor is determined. The current ambient light level is continuously monitored and compared with the original ambient light level to determine if the current ambient light level is equal to the original ambient light level. If not equal, a brightness adjustment factor corresponding to the current ambient light level is obtained based on the relationship curve, and the screen brightness is adjusted based on the brightness adjustment factor. The obtained screen brightness and the corresponding brightness adjustment factor are set to be the original screen brightness and the original brightness adjustment factor, and thus the background brightness is monitored again and the screen brightness is adjusted.

  • Patent number: 7408849
Abstract: A tilt adjustment device for adjusting tilt of a left guide bar with respect to a right guide bar, and includes a holding seat and a cylindrical-shaped bushing disposed rotatably within the holding seat. The bushing defines a bar-retention hole to permit extension of the left guide bar therethrough, and has a turning portion defining a first axis and an insert portion that extends eccentrically from the turning portion and that defines a second axis parallel to the first axis. Rotation of the cylindrical-shaped bushing relative to the holding seat results in a radial movement of the turning portion, which, in turn, moves the first axis toward and away from the second axis of the insert portion.

  • Patent number: 7355866
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method of detecting the phase-loss state of the three-phase power supply. When the phase-loss condition occurs in the input three-phase power supply of the power converter, it is determined whether the three-phase power source is in the phase-loss state through the characteristic of the frequency and amplitude variations of the ripple voltage of the DC bus, and through the sampling and the continuous detecting of the ripple voltage variations by making use of the sensor of the power converter in cooperation with the software calculation, it is determined whether the three-phase power source is in a phase-loss state. When the detected ripple voltage of the DC bus fulfills the phase-loss conditions, it is determined that the three-phase power source is in a phase-loss state.
