  • Patent number: 5441927
Abstract: Described is the use of oleophilic esters of ecologically compatible polycarboxylic acids with oil-soluble and ecologically compatible monofunctional alcohols and/or polyfunctional alcohols which may also be watersoluble as the oil phase or as a component of the oil phase of oil-based or water-based drilling fluids and other fluid drill-hole treatment agents. The oleophilic polycarboxylic acid esters are especially suitable as component of the continuous oil phase of inverted fluids of the W/O type. Here--if rheologically suitable compounds will be employed--they may comprise the at least predominant portion of the continuous oil phase; but also possible is the concomitant use of complex oleophilic polycarboxylic acid esters, which are not or just to a restricted degree fluid in a temperature range of from 0.degree. C. to 20.degree. C., as an additive in fluid oils of the class of the non-polluting oils.

  • Patent number: 5311793
Abstract: A brake cable fixing device for the expanding lock of a parking brake is described making possible an easy installation of a brake cable. A tapered cable end nipple of the brake cable is guided during installation by a funnel-shaped entry space, constituted by the outer edges of the fork of an actuating lever and by an elastic leg of a securing element positioned on a forked pressure bracket. Insertion of the cable and nipple deflects the elastic leg of the securing element, allowing the end nipple to pass by, and the restoring force of the elastic leg urges the cable end nipple into position in the fork of the actuating lever. The securing element is described as a spring clasp, having a pair of spring legs connected at a vertex, one spring leg constituting the elastic leg, the other spring leg engaging the endwall of the pressure bracket to mount the securing element thereto.

  • Patent number: 5307625
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and an arrangement for monitoring deterioration of lambda probes in the context of a two-probe control. The signal of the lambda probe forward of the converter functions to control the lambda controller and the signal of the lambda probe rearward of the converter influences the lambda controller via an actuating variable and the degree to which the controller is influenced operates for monitoring of the probe forward of the converter. With this method and arrangement, the quality and deterioration of the lambda probe forward of the converter are advantageously detected and, if required, an alarm signal is generated.

  • Patent number: 5211544
Abstract: A constructionally simplified hydraulic pump has two pump elements which discharge from a common suction chamber. The flows can be alternatively fed in common to a pressure outlet or separately to two outlets, one of which outlets leads back into the suction chamber. The pressure-side chambers for the separated flows can be connected, via a unidirectional valve, through which, in the open state, the flow of one pump element can be united with that of the second pump element. The different flow guide modes are switched via control valves whose position depends only on the pressure prevailing at the pressure outlet of the hydraulic pump. The control valves to be switched are a common component of a single control slide valve.
