  • Patent number: 11153345
Abstract: A data diode provides a flexible device for collecting data from a data source and transmitting the data to a data destination using one-way data transmission across a main channel. On-board processing elements allow the data diode to identify automatically the type of connectivity provided to the data diode and configure the data diode to handle the identified type of connectivity. Either or both of the inbound and outbound side of the data diode may comprise one or both of wired and wireless communication interfaces. A secure reverse channel, separate from the main channel, allows carefully predetermined communications from the data destination to the data source.

  • Publication number: 20210239340
Abstract: A testing platform tests an electrical and mechanical system such as an HVAC unit according to an algorithm that reduces the total testing time of the components of the system, while ensuring the safety of the system during system-wide testing. The platform uses constraints that are checked both before and during the testing to ensure that HVAC operating conditions are acceptable for starting and maintaining component tests. Preferably, the platform uses finite-state machines for each device to organize the component tests, allowing for monitoring of constraints and starting, pausing, and stopping component tests. Preferably, total test execution time is reduced by running component tests in parallel, running component tests based on loads of the components, or combinations of both.

  • Publication number: 20210207597
Abstract: Presented herein are systems and methods for attenuating flow ripple generated by a hydraulic pump. In certain aspects, a method and system for operating a hydraulic positive displacement pump according to a stabilized command profile are disclosed, such that flow ripple generated by operation of the pump according to the stabilized command profile is attenuated as compared to operation of the pump according to a corresponding nominal command profile. In other aspects, a pressure-balanced active buffer is disclosed that allow for at least partially cancelling flow ripple in a hydraulic circuit comprising a pump. In another aspect, a method for generating ripple maps for a pump is disclosed. Such ripple maps may be used, for example, to determine the stabilized command profile used to operate the pump, or may be used by the pressure-balanced active buffer to counteract ripple in the hydraulic circuit.

  • Publication number: 20200378660
Abstract: In one instance, a multistage microchannel condenser is provided for use as an aspect of a heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. The multistage microchannel condenser includes at least two pluralities of flat tubes having microchannels, each associated with a different refrigeration circuit, that are interspersed so that when only one refrigeration circuit is operational, the multistage microchannel condenser still does not have any substantial thermal dead spots. Manifolds are used on each end of the multistage microchannel condenser to fluidly couple members of the at least two pluralities of flat tubes such that the refrigerant in each refrigeration circuit remains separated while still using a majority of the area of the face of the multistage microchannel condenser. Other aspects are presented.

  • Patent number: 10719786
Abstract: A method includes identifying an event corresponding to an event node of a social graph associated with a social-networking system, where the social graph includes nodes and edges connecting the nodes, and the event node is connected to ticket nodes corresponding to tickets for the event. The nodes include a first user node corresponding to a first user of the social-networking system, and second nodes, each of which corresponds to a concept or to one of a plurality of second users of the social-networking system. The method further includes receiving a request to assign a selected one of the tickets for the event to the first user, and creating an edge between the first user node and a selected one of the ticket nodes, where the selected ticket node corresponds to the selected ticket.

  • Publication number: 20200088214
Abstract: Presented herein are systems and methods for attenuating certain pulsations in a hydraulic system comprising a pump and a hydraulic actuator. In certain aspects, an accumulator comprising an internal volume that is divided into a working chamber and a contained chamber may be utilized to at least partially attenuate propagation of certain pulsations in the system. The working chamber may be fluidically coupled to the pump via a first flow path and fluidically coupled to a chamber of the actuator via a second flow path. The system may be designed such that a first inertance of the first flow path is greater than a second inertance of the second flow path. Additionally or alternatively, the system may be designed such that a resonance associated with the first inertance and a compliance of the accumulator may occur at a resonance frequency of less than 90 Hz.
