Patent number: 9687013Abstract: A method for economically retrieving pre-rigor lean and fat for pork sausage from a butcher hog; barrow (a male pig that has been castrated) or gilt (female pig less than six months old that has never been pregnant), (a pig approximately 285 lbs live weight, 6 months old and ready for market with no abnormalities). Retrieving pre-rigor pork sausage from a butcher hog is not known currently in the industry because the perception is that it is not economically feasible. The process technology as disclosed and claimed herein is a new method for economically retrieving and processing certain sections of a butcher hog for producing ground pork sausage while maintaining the value from the primal cuts. The ground pork sausage from this process has comparable texture, color, consistency and other characteristics as compared to the pork sausage retrieved from the older sows, which are typically utilized in industry.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2014Date of Patent: June 27, 2017Assignee: Tyson Foods, Inc.Inventors: Craig Matthew Claussen, Brent Robert McElroy, Brady Thomas Wilson, Daniel Jason Boetel, Harry Y. Patent number: 9619443Abstract: A schema for a mark-up language provides a meaningful name and a short name, both of which are valid, for each of a plurality of data fields in messages coded in a mark-up language such as extensible mark-up language (XML). Code conversion of legacy data to use the short names reduces data volume for transmission, storage and processing while allowing the message to be automatically displayed for inspection, diagnostics and data synchronization during a transformation project such as an upgrade of a data processing system for verification of system operation. The ability to display meaningful names only for such purposes allows text editor arrangements to be used for data synchronization while use of short names improves virtually all aspects of system performance.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2012Date of Patent: April 11, 2017Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: James Edward Bostick, John Michael Ganci, Jr., John Paul Kaemmerer, Craig Matthew Trim

Patent number: 9596457Abstract: A multiple camera video system and methods for operating such a system. The system may include a plurality of cameras located around a stadium, athletic playing field or other location. The cameras are remotely controlled in a master-slave configuration. A camera operator at a master pan head selects one of the plurality of cameras as the current master camera and utilizes the master pan head to adjust the telemetry and zoom of the master camera to follow the target object. The telemetry and zoom parameters of the master camera are then used to calculate corresponding telemetry, zoom and/or other parameters for each of the plurality of slave cameras. Video captured by each of the cameras is stored for the production of replay video feeds or for archiving. The replays may be capable of “spinning” through the video feeds of adjacent cameras in order for the viewer to get the sensation of revolving around the target object. The multiple camera video system also includes methods for calibrating the system.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 2015Date of Patent: March 14, 2017Assignee: DISNEY ENTERPRISES, INC.Inventors: Kenneth John Aagaard, Larry Barbatsoulis, Frank Trizano, Craig Matthew Farrell

Publication number: 20160371339Abstract: In an embodiment, a server executes a first query in a semi-structured database to determine a first list of nodes that each include at least one node-specific data entry that satisfies the first query. The server initializes a Bloom filter with the first list of nodes. The server filters a list of candidate nodes for a second query based on the Bloom filter. The server executes, in conjunction with a faceted search procedure of a set of documents in the semi-structured database, a second query that uses the filtered list of candidate nodes as a facet to determine a second list of nodes that each includes one or more node-specific data entries from the facet that satisfy the second query.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 24, 2015Publication date: December 22, 2016Inventors: Michael William PADDON, Xavier Claude FRANC, Craig Matthew BROWN, Matthew Christian DUGGAN

Publication number: 20160371391Abstract: In an embodiment, a server detects a threshold number of search queries for which the same value at a target node for a document in a semi-structured database is returned as a search result. The server caches the value based on the detection. In another embodiment, the server detects a threshold number of search queries that result in values being returned as search results from a target node. The server caches values at the target node based on the detection. In another embodiment, the server records search result heuristics that indicate a degree to which search results are expected from a set of search queries. The server obtains a merge query and establishes an order in which search queries in the merge query are to be executed based on the recorded search result heuristics.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 24, 2015Publication date: December 22, 2016Inventors: Craig Matthew BROWN, Michael William PADDON, Xavier Claude FRANC, Louis PAN, Joel Timothy BEACH

Publication number: 20160371368Abstract: In an embodiment, search parameters in a series of search queries directed to a target node of a semi-structured database are categorized as frequently recurring parameters. A partial search query template is populated with shortcut information related to the search parameters, and then used to facilitate execution of a new search query that includes the same search parameters. In another embodiment, an index is generated that links search parameters that return intermediate search result values to search result values that are configured to be obtained when a search is conducted on the intermediate search result values. The index can be generated based upon monitoring of actual searches within the semi-structured database, or alternatively based upon an inspection of the semi-structured database itself.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 24, 2015Publication date: December 22, 2016Inventors: Craig Matthew BROWN, Michael William PADDON, Matthew Christian DUGGAN, Kento TARUI, Xavier Claude FRANC, Lei NI, Louis PAN, Joel Timothy BEACH

Publication number: 20160371392Abstract: In an embodiment, a server indexes, in a label-path indexed database, a first data entry at a first target node with a given node identifier in accordance with a label-path indexing protocol. After determining that a number of paths from the root node to non-root nodes that share the given node identifier exceeds a threshold, the server indexes a second data entry at a second target node with the given node identifier in a flat-indexed database in accordance with a flat indexing protocol. In an alternative embodiment, the server indexes the first data entry redundantly in both the label-path indexed database and the flat-indexed database while the path number does not exceed the threshold. When the path number exceeds the threshold, the second data entry is indexed in the flat-indexed database only.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 24, 2015Publication date: December 22, 2016Inventors: Craig Matthew BROWN, Xavier Claude FRANC, Michael William PADDON, Matthew Christian DUGGAN, Kento TARUI

Patent number: 9456508Abstract: Assemblies of structures such as electronic device assemblies may be connected using light-cured liquid adhesive such as ultraviolet-light-cured adhesive. Light sources such as ultraviolet-light light-emitting diodes may be mounted to a substrate such as a printed circuit board substrate. The substrate may be mounted to an assembly formed from a plurality of structures. The structures may be connected to each other to form an interior cavity within which the substrate and light-emitting diodes are contained. A connector may be included in the assembly. The connector may have input-output pins. Conductive paths may couple the input-output pins to the light-emitting diodes in the cavity. A tool may be used to apply signals to the light-emitting diodes to activate the light-emitting diodes. The light-emitting diodes produce light that cures the adhesive. The light-emitting diodes may be disabled by blowing a fuse after the adhesive has been cured.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2010Date of Patent: September 27, 2016Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventor: Craig Matthew Stanley
