  • Patent number: 10375050
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for authenticating image files when network connections should not or cannot be used to transfer image files. A user device application may capture an image at a user device, generate an image file, and generate a hash file based on the image file. Instead of sending the image file to an authentication server for authentication, the application may send the hash file. If desired, the application may transfer the image file when a desirable network connection is available. Any alteration to the image file in the meantime will result in a different hash file for the altered image file, thus allowing detection of altered image files. This approach offers decreases the amount of data that is required to be transmitted in low or undesirable signal conditions, while maintaining an ability to detect alterations to image files that may have been made in the meantime.

  • Patent number: 10369682
Abstract: An apparatus and method for refinishing a tapered surface of a machine tool component. The apparatus includes a head defining at least three tapered segments which are configured to conform precisely to the taper of the machine tool component being refinished. Each segment includes a surface for receiving an abrasive strip, the surfaces configured to conform and confront a conical surface of a taper to be refinished. The head is adapted to engage the tapered surface of the machine tool component so that upon rotation of the head, the abrasive strips abrade the conical surface of the component. A head for refinishing a spindle bore includes three outwardly extending segments whereas the head for refinishing a tool holder shank surface includes three segments extending between annular portions, each segment having an inner tapered surface for receiving the abrasive strips.

  • Patent number: 10372499
Abstract: An on-demand code execution environment present in points of presence (POPs) and in regions serviced by the POPs is provided herein. For example, a POP may receive a request to execute a task associated with user-defined code. If the POP determines that the computing resources necessary to execute a received task are not available or that the POP should not execute the received task for another reason (e.g., the task is not commonly received and the computing resources needed to execute the task are therefore best allocated for other requests), the POP can identify a region suitable for executing the task and forward the task to the identified region. An on-demand code execution environment present in the identified region can execute the task and forward the results of the execution to the POP for distribution back to a user device that requested the task execution.

  • Patent number: 10369325
Abstract: A multi-section tubular member including a sleeve surrounding and bridging a joint between a first section and a second section of the tubular member, and a method of forming a multi-section tubular member are disclosed. A polymeric sleeve may extend over a portion of the first section and an adjoining portion of the second section. A length of heat shrink tubing may be placed over the sleeve and heated, thereby compressing the heat shrink tubing around the sleeve. The sleeve may then be thermally bonded to each of the first section and the second section. The heat shrink tubing may then be removed, leaving the sleeve securely joining the first section and the second section to form a multi-section tubular member.

  • Publication number: 20190233433
Abstract: The description relates to imide-based compounds, including bifunctional compounds comprising the same, which find utility as modulators of targeted ubiquitination, especially inhibitors of a variety of polypeptides and other proteins which are degraded and/or otherwise inhibited by bifunctional compounds according to the present invention. In particular, the description provides compounds, which contain on one end a ligand which binds to the cereblon E3 ubiquitin ligase and on the other end a moiety which binds a target protein such that the target protein is placed in proximity to the ubiquitin ligase to effect degradation (and inhibition) of that protein. Compounds can be synthesized that exhibit a broad range of pharmacological activities consistent with the degradation/inhibition of targeted polypeptides of nearly any type.

  • Publication number: 20190232597
Abstract: A system for forming a vacuum bag packaging material into a desired shape includes subjecting the exterior of the packaging material to a vacuum to expand the packaging material. The expanded packaging material is then pressed into or against a forming device. Expanding the packaging material renders a filler material inside a sealed packaging membrane free flowing, such that the packaging material can assume the shape of the forming device during the pressing operation. When the vacuum is removed, the membrane recompresses upon the filler material and renders it non-free flowing such that the formed packaging material maintains the formed shape during ordinary handling.
