  • Patent number: 8650269
Abstract: Information handling system network addresses are managed based on the location of the information handling system. For example, a blade information handling system chassis has network addresses stored in persistent memory and associated with each of plural slots. A blade information handling system inserted in a slot receives network addresses associated with the slot from a chassis management controller. A baseboard management controller of the blade information handling system receives the network addresses and applies the network addresses to power up networking components to communicate over a network with the network addresses, such as MAC addresses or WWN addresses.

  • Publication number: 20130220948
Abstract: A nail polish display system includes a case, which may take the form of a shelving system or platform, sized to hold and display multiple bottles of nail polish. The bottles are placed on rollers, vibration generating pads, or placed in vicinity of a magnetic disc or rod. A motor operates a drive system for spinning the rollers or magnetic disc/rod, which in turns agitates the liquid nail polish in the bottles. The drive systems may take the form of a gear train system or a pulley system. For the magnetic agitation, the magnetic disc/rod causes ferromagnetic balls within the nail polish bottle to agitate the nail polish. Additionally or alternatively, the nail polish display system may include protective sleeves or covers for the nail polish bottles. Preferably, the sleeves are contoured to permit a brand or color of the nail polish to be adequately visible when the bottles are in the display case.

  • Publication number: 20120176207
Abstract: Method and apparatus for lowering capacitively-transduced resonator impedance within micromechanical resonator devices. Fabrication limits exist on how small the gap spacing can be made between a resonator and the associated input and output electrodes in response to etching processes. The present invention teaches a resonator device in which these gaps are then fully, or more preferably partially filled with a dielectric material to reduce the gap distance. A reduction of the gap distance substantially lowers the motional resistance of the micromechanical resonator device and thus the capacitively-transduced resonator impedance. Micromechanical resonator devices according to the invention can be utilized in a wide range of UHF devices, including integration within ultra-stable oscillators, RF filtering devices, radar systems, and communication systems.

  • Publication number: 20120041589
Abstract: A nail polish display system includes a case, which may take the form of a shelving system or platform, sized to hold and display multiple bottles of nail polish. The bottles are attached to coupling devices, such as clamps, sleeves, magnetic couplers, etc. to an agitator, which preferably takes the form of a rotatable rod. A motor operates the agitator to move, rotate or otherwise agitate the bottles and therefore sufficiently and continuously mix the nail polish within the bottles. The system may include one or more sensors configured to detect the presence of a patron, configured to detect a position of the motor or agitator, and/or configured to detect when a door to the case is being opened. Further, the motor may be programmable and receive instructions from either a controller or control logic using input from one or more of the sensors.

  • Publication number: 20120016531
Abstract: A method for power quality protection includes measurement of electrical and nonelectrical parameters, calculation of additional electrical and nonelectrical parameters, comparison of the value of the calculated parameters with maximum allowed values from a power quality perspective, activation of protection mechanisms for transitioning to a safe mode or for isolation from the bus. The systems and methods may prevent equipment failures when out of the spec power quality is present in the distribution bus and may protect the distribution bus from imposing power quality problems due to equipment failures. Because most of the sensors in the systems of the present invention are already used for other control and protection purposes, there may be no reliability degradation. Most of the calculations and the control logic may be performed digitally for improved reliability and flexibility to modify algorithms.

  • Patent number: 8012877
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments provide a method for fabricating an integrated circuit (IC) device with reduced streak defects. In one embodiment, the IC device structure can be formed having a first pad oxide-based layer on a front side of a semiconductor substrate and having an oxide-nitride-based structure on a backside of the semiconductor substrate. The IC device structure can be etched to remove a nitride-related material from the backside oxide-nitride-based structure, and further to remove the first pad oxide-based layer from the front side of the semiconductor substrate. On the removed front side of the semiconductor substrate a second pad oxide-based layer can be formed, e.g., for forming an isolation structure for device component or circuitry isolation.

  • Publication number: 20110201388
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer-readable medium is disclosed for prominent selection cues for icons. When an icon is in focus, and after expiration of a predetermined period of time, the icon can be displayed more prominently, e.g., display a larger representation of the icon, thereby increasing the icon's visibility. The icon can be displayed more prominently after the icon remains in focus for a predetermined amount of time. This functionality can be advantageous in applications having limited display area, such as on portable media players and mobile devices. Accordingly, the smaller display area of such devices is used more effectively by using prominent selection cues for navigating and displaying information.

  • Patent number: 7970873
Abstract: Information handling system network addresses are managed to support a consistent MAC address for iSCSI and fiber channel host bus adapter. For example, a management controller retrieves a MAC address from persistent memory, such as a network location, and assigns the MAC address to a non-persistent memory of a predetermined information handling system network component so that the MAC address remains consistent even if the network component is replaced. For example, an offload engine that supports network communications with iSCSI receives a MAC address from a network location and applies the MAC address for use by a host bus adapter. Alternatively, an offload engine supports Fiber Channel with World Wide Name or World Wide Identifier address assignments.
