  • Publication number: 20110067984
Abstract: A modally driven oscillating element periodically contacts one of more electrical contacts, thereby acting as a switch, otherwise known as a resonant switch, or “resoswitch”, with very high Q's, typically above 10000 in air, and higher in vacuum. Due to periodic constrained contacting of the contacts, the bandwidth of the switch is greatly improved. One or more oscillating elements may be vibrationally interconnected with conductive or nonconductive coupling elements, whereby increased bandwidths of such an overall switching system may be achieved. Using the resoswitch, power amplifiers and converters more closely approaching ideal may be implemented. Integrated circuit fabrication techniques may construct the resoswitch with other integrated CMOS elements for highly compact switching devices. Through introduction of specific geometries within the oscillating elements, displacement gains may be made where modal deflections are greatly increased, thereby reducing device drive voltages to 2.5 V or lower.

  • Patent number: 7572735
Abstract: Yield loss in semiconductor processing is mitigated by forming a resist over an active side of a semiconductor workpiece or wafer, as well as around the edge of the wafer. The resist mitigates the creation of contaminants, such as nitride flakes, for example, that can develop when an oxide, nitride, oxide (ONO) layer is removed from the back or in-active side of the wafer. In the absence of the resist, such flakes may migrate to the front or active side of the wafer and cause defects to form therein, which can result in yield loss.

  • Patent number: 7555270
Abstract: Power detection system and method provide for a wide dynamic range power detection. The system may incorporate a coupler to sample a transmitted or received power. Such sampled power is then directed to a detector configured to generate a voltage from its rectified current. Such voltage after optional filtering and buffering is directed to multiple amplifiers wherein each amplifier has a distinct associated gain. For improved noise immunity, a differential output amplifier may be used. For low power levels, the output of an amplifier with a large gain is directed to an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), wherein the analog voltage is quantized into a digital value. As power is increased, the output of an amplifier stage with a smaller gain can then be directed to the ADC such that saturation of the ADC is avoided. Hysteresis is implemented so to avoid undesirable and unnecessary rapid switching.

  • Publication number: 20090077208
Abstract: Information handling system network addresses are managed to support a consistent MAC address for iSCSI and fibre channel host bus adapter. For example, a management controller retrieves a MAC address from persistent memory, such as a network location, and assigns the MAC address to a non-persistent memory of a predetermined information handling system network component so that the MAC address remains consistent even if the network component is replaced. For example, an offload engine that supports network communications with iSCSI receives a MAC address from a network location and applies the MAC address for use by a host bus adapter. Alternatively, an offload engine supports Fibre Channel with World Wide Name or World Wide Identifier address assignments.
