  • Publication number: 20160234133
Abstract: A network switch includes a plurality of internal ports, a plurality of external ports, an event handler, an action engine, and an event processor. The event handler detects an event and, in response, assembles a construct that includes event parameters. The action engine uses the construct to generate an event syntax. The event processor executes the event syntax to automatically configure the communication between the plurality of internal ports and the plurality of external ports. A first event may include the connection of a cable to a first external port and result in each of the plurality of internal ports communicating with the first external port. A second event may include the connection of a cable to a second external port and result in a first subset of internal ports communicating with the first external port and a second subset of internal ports communicating with the second external port.

  • Publication number: 20160001699
Abstract: A device and a method for controlling the electrical power supply of a plurality of light sources, preferably of light-emitting diodes, or LEDs. The plurality of light sources is divided into at least two groups of light sources. The invention is noteworthy in that it allows the use of a multiphase step-up voltage converter for all the groups of light sources, whereas the measurements of the input currents for each of the phases of the converter give a reliable indication of the level of power required by one of the groups being powered.

  • Publication number: 20160000794
Abstract: The finding that patients with Sjögren's syndrome exhibit a statistically significant increase in expression of BMP6 in the salivary gland, relative to healthy control subjects, is described. Also described is the finding that overexpression of BMP6 in the salivary glands of mice results in an increase in electrical potential across the salivary gland. Methods of diagnosing a subject as having Sjögren's syndrome, or at risk for developing Sjögren's syndrome, by measuring the level of BMP6 expression in a salivary gland of a subject, measuring electrical potential in a salivary gland of a subject, or both, are described. Methods of treating a subject with Sjögren's syndrome, or methods of increasing salivary flow in a subject, by administering an agent that inhibits BMP6 expression or activity are also described. The use of XIST and MECP2 as diagnostic and therapeutic targets for male Sjögren's syndrome patients is further described.

  • Publication number: 20150271707
Abstract: A network device includes a communication interface. A processing system is coupled to the communication interface. A memory system is coupled to the processing system and includes instructions that, when executed by the processing system, cause the processing system to receive first traffic though the communication interface and forward the first traffic downstream though the communication interface using a first path. The memory system also includes instructions that, when executed by the processing system, cause the processing system receive a congestion notification from a downstream network device through the communication interface and determine whether the congestion notification is associated with the first traffic. In response to the first traffic being associated with the congestion notification, the processor determines whether a second path exists for forwarding subsequent traffic that is associated with the congestion notification downstream though the communication interface.

  • Publication number: 20150215408
Abstract: A network switch includes a service registration database and a service discovery engine that is coupled to the service registration database. The service discovery engine receives a first service registration over a network from a first service included on a first service device and, in response, stores the first service registration in the service registration database. The service discovery engine then receives a multicast service discovery message over the network from a target device. The service discovery message includes a service identification. The service discovery engine then determines that the service identification is associated with the first service registration stored in the service registration database and, in response, sends a unicast service communication message over the network to the target device. The service communication message includes communication information for the first service.

  • Patent number: 9077060
Abstract: A modally driven oscillating element periodically contacts one of more electrical contacts, thereby acting as a switch, otherwise known as a resonant switch, or “resoswitch”, with very high Q's, typically above 10000 in air, and higher in vacuum. Due to periodic constrained contacting of the contacts, the bandwidth of the switch is greatly improved. One or more oscillating elements may be vibrationally interconnected with conductive or nonconductive coupling elements, whereby increased bandwidths of such an overall switching system may be achieved. Using the resoswitch, power amplifiers and converters more closely approaching ideal may be implemented. Integrated circuit fabrication techniques may construct the resoswitch with other integrated CMOS elements for highly compact switching devices. Through introduction of specific geometries within the oscillating elements, displacement gains may be made where modal deflections are greatly increased, thereby reducing device drive voltages to 2.5 V or lower.
