    Abstract: A dual-line spout for maple syrup production is disclosed. The spout has a nose section with an input channel, and an interior chamber having first and second flow paths each fluidly connected to the input channel and to respective first and second output channels. The spout is designed for use with vacuum-based maple syrup productions systems that use a dual-line line system. The dry-line portion of the line system fluidly connects to the first output channel and the wet-line portion of the line system fluidly connected to the second output channel. Example spouts have no chambers, a single chamber or two sub-chambers, to facilitate air-liquid separation. Methods of using the spout in a vacuum-based, dual-line maple syrup production system are also disclosed.

The increased inside diameters of the drop lines, lateral lines, spout fittings, lateral line fittings and mainline fittings dramatically improves the flow of air and sap from the taphole and through the line system.

    Abstract: The present invention pertains to a data-providing component securing mechanism for a printing apparatus reservoir. According to embodiments of the present invention, a securing mechanism is provided with an image-formation-material reservoir. The securing mechanism includes a drawer-style support feature having two guiding regions that interact with sides of the data-providing component when it is inserted therein. Upon complete or substantially complete insertion of the data-providing component into the drawer-style support feature, a retention feature is engaged at an opening end of the drawer-style support feature in order to retain the data-providing component in its engaged position. Consequently, the data-providing component can be secured without the use of external bonding agents, and can be removed from the drawer-style support feature intact, thereby allowing such data-providing component to be reused.

The graphical user interface visually represents the groups of image files on 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional graphic metaphors. In addition, the graphical interface uses multiple display variables such as icons, mnemonics, size, movement, color, and luminance to signify relationships between groups, and/or communicate key properties of individual or groups of images.

    Abstract: Consistent with the present disclosure, an optical switch is provided that switches multiple wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) optical signals. Each of the WDM signals includes optical signals having the same wavelengths. The WDM signals are supplied to optical splitters, which supply power split portions of the WDM signals to corresponding optical gates. Groups of the optical gates are associated with a corresponding switching block, which may include a cyclical arrayed waveguide grating (AWG), and the optical gates within each group are controlled so that one gate passes a received WDM signal portion while the remaining optical gates in the group are in a blocking configuration. As a result, the WDM portion received by the non-blocking gate is demultiplexed in the switching block and each of the wavelength components that constitute the selected WDM portion are supplied to corresponding outputs within the switching block.

The interior chamber serves as a reservoir that allows the vacuum to accumulate, thereby facilitating the flow of sap from the tap hole, through the spout and into the dropline. The interior chamber also facilitates reduced liquid-liquid contact between the tubing system and the taphole, which improves the cleanliness of the tap hole and increases sap yield. Methods of using the spout in maple syrup production system are also disclosed.
