  • Publication number: 20120281028
Abstract: A method and system for generating backlight control values for a dual modulation display including a front panel having a first resolution and a backlight subsystem having lower resolution than the front panel, in response to input image data. Some embodiments determine statistical data indicative of at least one statistical measure of each of a number of spatially compact subsets of pixels of image data having the first resolution, where the pixels of image data are pixels of the input image data, color components of pixels of the input image data, or data values derived from pixels of the input image data. Some embodiments determine backlight drive values for each color channel of the backlight subsystem, including by determining statistical data for each color channel, determining backlight drive values for each color channel from the statistical data, and performing cross-channel correction on these backlight drive values.

  • Publication number: 20070172081
Abstract: A method of optimizing the low frequency audio response emanating from a pair of low frequency transducers housed within a cabinet. The low frequency transducers are electrically connected to a power amplifier and source of audio content. The resonant frequency (Fs) and amplitude (Q) are characterized as to the high-pass pole of the low frequency transducers as they are mounted within the cabinet. An equalizer is placed between the amplifier and source of audio content for canceling the complex pole of the low frequency transducers and for establishing a new complex pole at a cut off frequency below which the sound generated by the low frequency transducers will diminish.

  • Patent number: 7007438
Abstract: A crossarm system adapted to support power lines from a vertical pole. The crossarm system comprises a wooden crossarm member and first and second nail end plates. The wooden crossarm member defines upper, lower, inner, and outer surfaces and first and second end surfaces, a main bore, a plurality of pin bores, and at least one brace bore. Each nail end plate comprises a plate member defining an inner surface and an outer surface and a plurality of nail projections extending from the inner surface of the plate member. Each nail projection defines a width dimension. In use, the first and second nail end plates are displaced towards the first and second end surfaces, respectively, such that the nail projections enter the wooden crossarm member. The nail projections are arranged such that the width dimensions substantially prevent splitting of the ends of the crossarm member.
