  • Publication number: 20230244248
Abstract: A method and system for controlling movement of a vehicle. Movement, orientation, and position data of the vehicle is collected. A model of kinematics of the vehicle and its environment is created and a Theory of World model is produced and updated. The model includes geometric algebra multivectors. Errors and noise are stored as geometrically meaningful first-class objects within the multivectors. Geometric algebra operations are used to manipulate the model during operation. Error and noise data are propagated and manipulated using geometric algebra operations to reflect measurement and processing errors or noise. The models are used in generation of control data with a primary intent of ensuring stability. Operations such as intersections are used to compare position, orientation, and movement of the vehicle against position, orientation, and movement of objects in its environment. System tasks include, but are not limited to, kinematics, inverse kinematics, collision avoidance, and dynamics.

  • Patent number: 11702232
Abstract: An apparatus and methods for producing at extremely high production speeds small pouches filled with tobacco or other granular, powdered or solid content is provided. An endless web substrate, with or without flavor film thereon, is formed into a tubular shape with a longitudinal seam. The tube is cut to individual lengths, and a procession of tubes is crimp-closed at one end, filled and crimp-closed at the other end to complete pouch production. During production, the seams formed at the crimped ends of the pouch are parallel to one another and the longitudinal seam of the pouch is midway between the sides of the pouch and orthogonal to the seams formed at the crimped ends of the pouch.

  • Publication number: 20230198794
Abstract: Messaging between an ultra-tag and external microcontroller. In an embodiment, a transmitting device is communicatively connected to a receiving device by a clear-to-communicate line and request line. When data to be transmitted has normal priority, the transmitting device detects whether the clear-to-communicate line indicates that the receiving device is available, indicates a request to transmit on the request line if so, waits until the receiving device is available and then indicates a request to transmit on the request line if not, after indicating a request to transmit, transmits the data when the clear-to-communicate line indicates that the receiving device is unavailable, and, after transmitting the data, releases the indication of the request to transmit on the request line. On the other hand, when the data has high priority, the transmitting device indicates a request to transmit on the request line, regardless of an indication on the clear-to-communicate line.

  • Publication number: 20230148122
Abstract: In a virtual environment implemented using multiple hosts, a first host maintains records identifying virtual objects and entities which control the virtual objects. When a second host receives a request of a first entity acquiring the control of a virtual object from a second entity, the second host instructs the first host to: update a first record to remove the virtual object from a view simulation of the virtual world servicing the second entity; and adding a second record associating the first entity with the virtual object but having an indicator that prevents the rendering of the virtual object for the first entity. At the time for the completion of the control transfer to the first entity, the second host instructs the first host to update the second record to remove the indicator and thus allow the virtual object to be rendered in the view simulation servicing the first entity.

  • Publication number: 20230105020
Abstract: Techniques of self-checkout alerts based on packaging detection. A given bag type of a bag selected at a self-checkout kiosk is identified out of a bag types available from a bag dispenser associated with the self-checkout kiosk, the bag being an empty bag. A weight range of the empty bag is identified based on the given bag type. An allowed weight range of a combination of the empty bag and a desired item is determined based on the weight range of the empty bag, a weight of the desired item as measured by a terminal scale, and at least one of a measurement tolerance of the terminal scale and a measurement tolerance of a platform scale. A loss prevention alert is generated, and a transaction at the self-checkout kiosk is paused, upon determining that the allowed weight range is exceeded.

  • Publication number: 20230109436
Abstract: Techniques for self-checkout alert reduction based on packaging detection. A deflection in a first bag reservoir associated with a self-checkout kiosk is determined. The first bag reservoir is positioned adjacent to a packing area and includes a first type of bags. The self-checkout kiosk includes a terminal scale and further includes a platform scale in the packing area. That an empty bag is retrieved from the first bag reservoir is determined based on the deflection in the first bag reservoir. A bag type and a weight range are identified for the empty bag. An allowed weight range of a combination of the empty bag and a desired item is then determined. Presence of the empty bag on the platform scale is prevented from causing a loss prevention alert to be generated when the desired item has been placed in the empty bag on the platform scale.
