  • Publication number: 20140347075
Abstract: A detection coil is incorporated in a self-oscillation circuit. The oscillation frequency of the self-oscillation circuit, which comprises the coil and a capacitor, is set to a high frequency band (e.g., around 1 MHz or higher). A target section whose relative position to the coil section varies in response to displacement of a detection object, and includes a magnetism-responsive member constructed to cause inductance of the coil to vary with the relative position. A rectifier circuit extracts an amplitude level of an oscillation output signal of the self-oscillation circuit and outputs the extracted level as detected position data. For example, a plurality of self-oscillation circuits are provided. Alternatively, a single self-oscillation circuit forms a plurality of series circuits by, for each coil pair, connecting in series the two coils of the coil pair, and includes the result of connecting the series circuits in parallel as an inductor element for self-oscillation.

  • Patent number: 8833526
Abstract: An electric brake apparatus compares an estimated thrust force corresponding to a predetermined rotational position of an electric motor, which is calculated from an electric current/thrust force conversion function, with a reference thrust force based on a rotational position/thrust force table indicating a relationship between the rotational position of the electric motor and a thrust force of a piston to correct and update the electric current/thrust force conversion function, thereby maintaining a predetermined control accuracy despite wear of a brake pad and other changes over time.

  • Patent number: 8831165
Abstract: A fuel assembly has a regular dodecagon fuel rod arrangement with a single fuel rod provided to each apex of a regular dodecagon having lines of length A. Assuming a direction within a horizontal plane is transverse, and a direction perpendicular to the transverse direction is longitudinal, regular dodecagon fuel rod arrangements are arranged in regular intervals in the transverse direction and the longitudinal direction. In the transverse direction, two adjacent regular dodecagon fuel rod arrangements are arranged having opposing two sides of the regular dodecagons parallel to each other with the distance of mA, wherein m is a nonnegative integer, apart from each other. With respect to the longitudinal direction, two adjacent regular dodecagon fuel rod arrangements are arranged so that the opposing two sides of the regular dodecagons are parallel to each other with the distance of nA, wherein n is a nonnegative integer, apart from each other.

  • Publication number: 20140239861
Abstract: An objective of the present invention is to improve current detection accuracy and to reduce noise of carrier frequency. A motor apparatus and a motor drive apparatus calculate motor currents Iu, Iv, and Iw using a DC bus current detected value Idc of an inverter and control a magnitude and a phase of an applied voltage of a motor to drive the motor. A carrier adjuster decreases a carrier frequency Fc of the inverter if a motor output is relatively larger and that increases the carrier frequency Fc of the inverter if the motor output is relatively smaller. A pulse shift adjuster shifts an interphase waveform of a PWM pulse according to the carrier frequency Fc.

  • Publication number: 20140095044
Abstract: A second ECU determines whether or not there is an abnormality in a hydraulic-pressure sensor in a first cycle based on a detection value of the hydraulic-pressure sensor, and outputs a signal indicating determination of occurrence of the abnormality to a first ECU via signal line when determining occurrence of the abnormality in the sensor. The first ECU receives the detection value of the hydraulic-pressure sensor through communication from the second ECU via the signal line to determine whether or not there is the abnormality in the hydraulic-pressure sensor in a second cycle shorter than the first cycle. When determining that the hydraulic-pressure sensor is abnormal, the first ECU controls driving of an electric actuator based on a braking command from an operation-amount detection sensor without using the detection value of the hydraulic-pressure sensor determined as abnormal.

  • Patent number: 8677835
Abstract: An excitation AC signal biased by a predetermined DC voltage is applied to a coil to allow a DC voltage component in a coil output signal to contain failure information about disconnection, partial disconnection, or the like of the coil. The DC voltage component contained in the coil output signal is detected, and the detected DC voltage is provided as an offset voltage for a failure diagnosis. Further, to check a peak level of the excitation AC voltage, a DC voltage corresponding to the peak level may be contained in the offset voltage. A differential amplifier circuit for obtaining a difference between a coil detection output AC voltage component and a reference AC voltage component outputs an obtained differential signal offset by the offset voltage. Accordingly, the differential signal containing the offset voltage as the failure information is transmitted to a circuit for torque measurement as a torque detection signal via a single output line.

  • Patent number: 8676409
Abstract: Even when a rigidity table stored in a RAM at the time of a start of a brake operation does not coincide with an actual rigidity characteristic of an electric caliper which changes according to brake conditions including how often and how long a brake operation is applied, it is possible to reduce a deviation between a pressing force instruction value and a generated pressing force by updating the characteristic of the relation between a pressing force instruction value and rotational position each time an estimated thrust force value is calculated during one brake operation. It is possible to steadily keep followability to a pressing force instruction according to an actual state of the rigidity characteristic of the electric caliper, thereby ensuring generation of an appropriate brake force.

  • Patent number: 8559586
Abstract: A reactor fuel bundle includes both full-length fuel rods and part-length fuel rods. The part-length rods are clumped in two groups—a first rod group surrounds one or more water passages which are generally centrally disposed in a channel of the fuel bundle, and a second rod group is distributed about an inner perimeter wall of the channel.
