Patent number: 8706994Abstract: Various embodiments for synchronization of source and replicated instances of sequential access storage components in a computing environment by a processor device are provided. A replication synchronization table (RST) of a source instance is updated at a source component with the compacted information. Based on the RST of the source instance and the RST of the replicated instance, data representative of a most recent position on the source component from which data should be transmitted to a replicated component to achieve a full synchronization is determined.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2013Date of Patent: April 22, 2014Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Shay H. Publication number: 20140046663Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for improving speech recognition accuracy using textual context. The method includes retrieving a recorded utterance, capturing text from a device display associated with the spoken dialog and viewed by one party to the recorded utterance, and identifying words in the captured text that are relevant to the recorded utterance. The method further includes adding the identified words to a dynamic language model, and recognizing the recorded utterance using the dynamic language model. The recorded utterance can be a spoken dialog. A time stamp can be assigned to each identified word. The method can include adding identified words to and/or removing identified words from the dynamic language model based on their respective time stamps. A screen scraper can capture text from the device display associated with the recorded utterance. Patent number: 8606585Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium for editing a data stream based on a corpus are provided. The data stream includes stream words. A sequence includes a predetermined number of sequential words of the stream words. The method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium determine whether the sequence exists in the corpus at least at a predetermined minimum frequency. When the sequence exists in the corpus at least at the predetermined minimum frequency, the sequence is edited in the data stream.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2010Date of Patent: December 10, 2013Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Ilya Dan Melamed, Yeon-Jun Kim

Publication number: 20130268103Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and media for filtering a data stream are provided. The data stream is partitioned into a plurality of data stream segments. An acoustic parameter of each of the data stream segments is measured, and it is determined whether the acoustic parameter of each of the data stream segments satisfies a predetermined condition. Extraneous segments of the data stream segments are identified in which the predetermined condition is satisfied, and it is determined whether the extraneous segments have a predetermined relationship in the data stream. The extraneous segments are deleted from the data stream to produce a filtered data stream in response to the extraneous segments having the predetermined relationship.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2013Publication date: October 10, 2013Inventors: Yeon-Jun KIM, I. Patent number: 8533412Abstract: A replication synchronization table (RST) is configured for the source instance. The RST is adapted for recording compacted information for at least one of a truncate and an erase operation applied on the source instance. The RST of the source instance is updated at a source component with the compacted information. The updated RST is transmitted from the source instance to the replicated instance. Based on the RST of the source instance and the RST of the replicated instance, data representative of a most recent position on the source component from which data should be transmitted to a replicated component to achieve a full synchronization is determined.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2012Date of Patent: September 10, 2013Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Shay H. Patent number: 8457771Abstract: A data stream is filtered to produce a filtered data stream. The data stream is analyzed based on an acoustic parameter to determine whether a predetermined condition is satisfied. At least one extraneous portion of the data stream, in which the predetermined condition is satisfied, is determined. Thereafter, the at least one extraneous portion is deleted from the data stream to produce the filtered data stream.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2009Date of Patent: June 4, 2013Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Yeon-Jun Kim, I. Publication number: 20130132080Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for crowd-sourced data labeling. The system requests a respective response from each of a set of entities. The set of entities includes crowd workers. Next, the system incrementally receives a number of responses from the set of entities until at least one of an accuracy threshold is reached and m responses are received, wherein the accuracy threshold is based on characteristics of the number of responses. Finally, the system generates an output response based on the number of responses.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 18, 2011Publication date: May 23, 2013Applicant: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Jason Williams, Tirso Alonso, Barbara B.
