  • Publication number: 20120084081
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for performing trend analysis of speech. A system practicing the method receives a speech trend analysis request having candidate feature constraints, an objective function with respect to a speech trend to be analyzed, and a set of speech record constraints. The system selects a subset of speech records from the group of speech records based on the set of speech record constraints to yield selected speech records, identifies features in the selected speech records based on the set of candidate feature constraints to yield identified features, and assigns a weight to each of the identified features based on the objective function. Then the system ranks the identified features by their respective weights to yield ranked identified features, and outputs at least one of the ranked identified features associated with a speech-based trend in response to the speech trend analysis request.

  • Publication number: 20120022950
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for a voice message to text system supporting targeted advertisements. Voice messages received from users are converted to raw text messages that are normalized to insert proper punctuation and extract entity information. The normalized text and entity information are processed to extract concepts, such as critical phrases, from the normalized text. Extracted concepts are then matched to advertisements on an advertisement database having user selection criteria. Advertisements having selection criteria matching the extracted concepts are transmitted to the users, and the advertisers that placed the advertisements are charged fees for the advertisements. User profile information and user context information can additionally be used to select advertisements for transmission to users.

  • Publication number: 20110145001
Abstract: A data stream is filtered to produce a filtered data stream. The data stream is analyzed based on an acoustic parameter to determine whether a predetermined condition is satisfied. At least one extraneous portion of the data stream, in which the predetermined condition is satisfied, is determined. Thereafter, the at least one extraneous portion is deleted from the data stream to produce the filtered data stream.

  • Publication number: 20110145002
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium for editing a data stream based on a corpus are provided. The data stream includes stream words. A sequence includes a predetermined number of sequential words of the stream words. The method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium determine whether the sequence exists in the corpus at least at a predetermined minimum frequency. When the sequence exists in the corpus at least at the predetermined minimum frequency, the sequence is edited in the data stream.

  • Publication number: 20110099013
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for improving speech recognition accuracy using textual context. The method includes retrieving a recorded utterance, capturing text from a device display associated with the spoken dialog and viewed by one party to the recorded utterance, and identifying words in the captured text that are relevant to the recorded utterance. The method further includes adding the identified words to a dynamic language model, and recognizing the recorded utterance using the dynamic language model. The recorded utterance can be a spoken dialog. A time stamp can be assigned to each identified word. The method can include adding identified words to and/or removing identified words from the dynamic language model based on their respective time stamps. A screen scraper can capture text from the device display associated with the recorded utterance. The device display can contain customer service data.

  • Publication number: 20110040942
Abstract: Various embodiments for synchronization of source and replicated instances of sequential access storage components in a computing environment by a processor device are provided. A replication synchronization table (RST) is configured for the source instance. The RST is adapted for recording compacted information for at least one of a truncate and an erase operation applied on the source instance. The RST of the source instance is updated at a source component with the compacted information. The updated RST is transmitted from the source instance to the replicated instance. Based on the RST of the source instance and the RST of the replicated instance, data representative of a most recent position on the source component from which data should be transmitted to a replicated component to achieve a full synchronization is determined.

  • Publication number: 20100332286
Abstract: Predicting a score related to a communication sent by a sender over a communications network to a first agent servicing the communication includes obtaining a regression result for an objective function by encoding features extracted from the communication. The encoded features are applied to a regression model for the objective function. The regression result is output to a network component in the communications network. The regression model is determined prior to or concurrently with receiving the communication from the sender.

  • Publication number: 20100332227
Abstract: A method of detecting pre-determined phrases to determine compliance quality is provided. The method includes determining whether at least one of an event or a precursor event has occurred based on a comparison between pre-determined phrases and a communication between a sender and a recipient in a communications network, and rating the recipient based on the presence of the pre-determined phrases associated with the event or the presence of the pre-determined phrases associated with the precursor event in the communication.

  • Publication number: 20100161315
Abstract: A method of correlating received communication data with operational communication characteristics is provided. The method includes receiving audible input from a source in a communication over a communications network, recording the received audible input, and transcribing the recorded audible input into a transcript. The method further includes outputting the transcript, specifying features of the transcript to be analyzed, specifying and recording operational communication characteristics particular to the communication, analyzing the transcript for the specified features to identify patterns associated with the audible input, computing statistical correlations of the identified patterns with the operational communication characteristics, and outputting results of the computed statistical correlations on a user interface.
