  • Publication number: 20200313921
Abstract: Exemplified systems and methods facilitate multicasting latency optimization operations for router, switches, and other network devices, for routed Layer-3 multicast packets to provide even distribution latency and/or selective prioritized distribution of latency among multicast destinations. A list of network destinations for serially-replicated packets is traversed in different sequences from one packet to the next, to provide delay fairness among the listed destinations. The list of network destinations are mapped to physical network ports, virtual ports, or logical ports of the router, switches, or other network devices and, thus, the different sequences are also traversed from these physical network ports, virtual ports, or logical ports. The exemplified systems and methods facilitates the management of traffic that is particularly beneficial in in a data center.

  • Publication number: 20200232893
Abstract: A method is provided. An actual fatigue curve limit is determined for actual stress of a drilling component based on an actual yield strength of a material of the drilling component. A plurality of drilling parameters is simulated for the drilling component to determine one or more estimated stresses enacted on the drilling component for one or more combinations of the plurality of drilling parameters. A component life cycle of the drilling component is determined based on the actual fatigue curve limit and the plurality of drilling parameters. A consumed component life of the drilling component is determined for an actual drilling step utilizing the drilling component, and a remaining life of the drilling component after the actual drilling step is determined.

  • Patent number: 10704167
Abstract: The method for drawing a fiber with a textured surface comprises the following steps: —forming of a preform from which the fiber is to be drawn with a textured surface; —addition of an outer layer to the textured preform to preserve the shape of the texture of the preform surface during the drawing operation; —drawing of a fiber from the preform, whereby the fiber keeps the formed texture of the preform surface and —removing the additional outer layer to leave the original surface textured fiber exposed. The obtained fiber can be used as a mold to form a textured hollow channel in another material, as a surface coating and as a pressure detector.

  • Patent number: 10698127
Abstract: An antenna shield latches around a mandrel or wellbore tubular to protect an antenna carried by the mandrel. The antenna shield opens to facilitate installation over the mandrel, and closes the around the antenna to provide robust protection from the downhole environment. Radial sections of the antenna shield are coupled to one another such that the antenna shield maintains a one piece construction, and the sections may pivot to move the antenna shield between open and closed configurations. Readily opening and closing the antenna shield facilitates maintenance and repair of the antenna and reusability of the antenna shield. Other components of a logging tool system, e.g., stabilizers, may also be provided with a similar latch mechanism for coupling to an outer diameter of the wellbore tubular.

  • Publication number: 20200163289
Abstract: A concentrator nozzle attachment for a blower device is disclosed that increases the airflow velocity of the blower without sacrificing the field of the jetting air. The concentrator nozzle is formed of an outer ring with a centrally located guide surface and is placed at the exit of an air tube. As the air exits the air tube, it's forced to flow around the guide surface, thus increasing its velocity. The attachment is secured to the end of the air tube and so does not alter the outer diameter through which the air exits. In this way, air velocity is increased without reducing its effectiveness.
