Abstract: A system for adding or updating contact data in a wireless communication device, cellular telephone, pager or personal digital assistant (PDA) is shown. Contact data associated with actual or potential communicants may be entered into a database in the wireless communication device using a detachable input interface, a touch display, a personal computer or a wireless receiver. The contact data may include name, telephone number, fax number, address, email, image or sound data associated with actual or potential communicants. In one embodiment, data may be entered or modified from a detachable keyboard while viewing a cursor location that is presented within a small touch display in the wireless communication device. The wireless communication device may include a cellular or paging link and can receive Caller ID data originating from the public switched telephone network over a wireless communication system.

Abstract: A wireless information communication system and method, such as a paging network, that provides caller identification information transmitted from the public switched telephone network to a pager, PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), a portable computing device, or personal communication device carried by a page-receiving communicant. The system and method may include a textual or synthesized voice query to verify the telephone number and/or name information that was derived from caller identification information received, and may also prompt a caller to enter other optional data such as alternative caller-identifying information, call-back information or message information. The wireless system and method then transmits at least one of the caller identification information and the optional data to a page-receiving communicant.

Abstract: A message originator sends a picture or video message to a message center along with caller identifying information. The message is stored in a memory and transmitted to a wireless picture phone, PDA or portable computing device, or stored at the message center in a memory or hard disk drive for later retrieval by a message recipient. The picture or video message may be encoded, encrypted or compressed prior to receipt by the wireless device.

Abstract: Pictures are transmitted to a wireless picture phone with caller ID from a message originator and used by the message recipient to identify who is to sending the picture. In one embodiment the pictures are sent to a message center along with the caller ID of the message originator, with a caller ID and picture transmitted from the message center to the picture phone. The picture message may be encrypted, compressed or encoded. Additionally, the received caller ID may be used by the message recipient to place a call to the message originator using a cellular or wireless network.

A paging service sends a page including an identification, retrieves a menu from the pager database and displays the menu. Abstract: A method, apparatus, system, and signal-bearing medium that, in an embodiment, set uncorrectable error indicators in logical memory blocks in response to detecting an uncorrectable error in memory pages associated with the logical memory blocks. If the logical memory block is allocated to a hypervisor, the memory page may be deallocated in response to detection of the uncorrectable error. When an IPL of a partition is subsequently performed, a determination is made whether a logical memory block allocated to the partition previously encountered the uncorrectable error via the uncorrectable error indicator. If the logical memory block did previously encounter the uncorrectable error, the logical memory block is deallocated from the partition. In an embodiment, if spare memory exists, the logical memory block with the previously encountered uncorrectable error is replaced with the spare memory and the IPL of the partition is continued with the spare memory.

Abstract: Adenovirus vectors replication specific for cells expressing ?-fetoprotein (AFP) and their methods of use are provided. By providing for a transcriptional initiating regulation dependent upon AFP expression, virus replication is restricted to target cells expressing AFP, particularly hepatocellular carcinoma cells. The adenovirus vectors can be used to detect and monitor samples for the presence of AFP-producing cells as well as to kill selectively malignant cells producing AFP.

Abstract: The invention provides methods of treating neoplasia using combinations of target cell-specific replication competent adenoviral vectors and chemotherapy, radiation therapy or combinations thereof. The adenoviral vectors are target cell-specific for the particular type of neoplasia for which treatment is necessary and the combination with the chemotherapy and/or radiation leads to synergistic treatment over existing adenoviral therapy or traditional chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Abstract: The invention provides adenoviral vectors (preferably replication competent) comprising both an E3 sequence and at least one adenoviral gene under transcriptional control of a target cell-specific transcriptional response element. Abstract: An enhanced telephony call waiting feature and apparatus is provided wherein identifying information related to a third party wishing to converse with a first party already communicating with a second party is provided to the first party during a mute condition in a manner that minimizes the time period of the mute condition. The method is fully compatible with existing services while allowing for new services. The method comprises the steps of the local switching office sending a call waiting tone having predetermined characteristics to the first party and its apparatus responding thereto by generating an acknowledgment signal. The apparatus then initiates a mute condition simultaneous with the ACK signal generation, or in response to detection of a carrier signal, or at some other time after exchange of the call waiting tone and/or the acknowledgment signal has occurred.

Abstract: A telephone answering device and system that receives and stores in memory caller identifying data such as Caller ID data received automatically from the PSTN or alternate caller-identifying entries received from a caller. The Caller ID data or alternate caller-identifying entries are stored in memory along with an associated voice message. The caller is given an option to review or modify the Caller ID data to be associated with the voice message and the Caller ID data may be annunciated using a speech synthesizer. The caller identifying data associated with voice message data from a caller can be selectively played back to a called party and used to redial the caller in order to return the call.
