In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine that a network configuration procedure has failed a threshold number of times for a first radio access technology (RAT). The UE may perform a first action to prevent execution of the network configuration procedure until a timer has elapsed based at least in part on determining that the network configuration procedure has failed the threshold number of times. The first action may include transmitting a message that indicates that the UE does not have a capability to communicate using the first RAT, barring a cell or a tracking area of the first RAT or a second RAT that assists with establishing a radio access network connection for the first RAT, and/or refraining from reporting measurement results for the first RAT. The wireless communication device reselects a second cell for camping in response to a failure to receive the first system information. The second cell is associated with the wireless communication network and different from the first cell. The wireless communication device maintains the network session during the reselecting the first cell for camping and the reselecting the second cell for camping.

In some examples, when a UE first enters a network area, the network may provide the UE with a list of commonly used baseline configurations. Each baseline configuration may be identified by an index and a value tag.     Abstract: Early termination of enhanced multimedia broadcast-multicast service (eMBMS) is discussed. Forward error correction (FEC) redundancy data is added to broadcast data, such that if enough of the data symbols are successfully received, the data object may be reassembled before the entire transmission has been received. The aspects involve an application processor and modem processor, which may either be integrated into the same integrated circuit or separate components. The application processor obtains a total number of source symbols and a redundancy level for a data object to be received from the eMBMS, receives the successfully received data symbols from the modem processor, and then determines whether the number of successfully received data symbols exceeds a threshold for reassembling the transmitted data object. If so, then the application processor and/or the modem processor can shut down until the next broadcast.
