  • Publication number: 20220403336
Abstract: Disclosed herein are compositions, devices, methods, processes, and systems for culturing of large quantities of mammalian cells in suspension culture. Also disclosed are unique and surprising cell populations derived from the disclosed methods, processes, and systems. In many embodiments, the cells are cultured in suspension in liquid culture media that is agitated to maintain the cells in suspension, and agitation increases to maintain cells in suspension while growing and dividing to create cell spheres. The disclosed devices, methods, processes, and systems are useful in tailoring characteristics of the resulting cells based on characteristics of donor subject/initial cells. The disclosed cell populations are useful in treating subjects with cell based therapies in need thereof for various diseases and conditions.

  • Patent number: 11487341
Abstract: Systems and techniques for improving the performance of circuits while adapting to dynamic voltage drops caused by the execution of noisy instructions (e.g. high power consuming instructions) are provided. The performance is improved by slowing down the frequency of operation selectively for types of noisy instructions. An example technique controls a clock by detecting an instruction of a predetermined noisy type that is predicted to have a predefined noise characteristic (e.g. a high level of noise generated on the voltage rails of a circuit due to greater amount of current drawn by the instruction), and, responsive to the detecting, deceasing a frequency of the clock. The detecting occurs before execution of the instruction. The changing of the frequency in accordance with instruction type enables the circuits to be operated at high frequencies even if some of the workloads include instructions for which the frequency of operation is slowed down.

  • Patent number: 11466288
Abstract: Disclosed are methods of obtaining clonal seeds, methods of plant cloning, methods of screening for maternal plants that produce clonal seeds asexually and methods of increasing yield of clonal seeds. Also disclosed are constructs comprising a nucleic acid that may silence the activity of a RNA-dependent DNA methylation pathway gene. Further disclosed are maternal plants comprising a construct wherein the construct comprises an exogenous nucleic acid sequence, wherein the construct renders the maternal plant defective for RNA-dependent DNA methylation.

  • Publication number: 20220204969
Abstract: This invention relates to metabolically engineered microorganisms, such as bacterial and or fungal strains, and bioprocesses utilizing such strains. These strains enable the dynamic control of metabolic pathways, which can be used to optimize production. Dynamic control over metabolism is accomplished via a combination of methodologies including but not limited to transcriptional silencing and controlled enzyme proteolysis. These microbial strains are utilized in a multi-stage bioprocess encompassing at least two stages, the first stage in which organisms are grown and metabolism can be optimized for microbial growth and at least one other stage in which growth can be slowed or stopped, and dynamic changes can be made to metabolism to improve the production of desired product, such as a chemical or fuel.
