  • Patent number: 10315659
Abstract: An apparatus for a clutchless manual transmission includes a transmission, a drive shaft, and a motor shaft. The transmission includes an input shaft, an output shaft, and an intermediate gear. The input shaft is coupled to an engine shaft to receive power and the output shaft is coupled to the drive shaft to transmit power to a wheel of a vehicle. The input shaft and output shaft are coupled by a plurality of input and output shaft gears. A first synchronizer is coupled to the output shaft to selectively engage a particular output shaft gear, adjusting the speed of the output shaft relative to the input shaft. The motor shaft receives power from a motor and includes a second synchronizer to selectively engage the engine shaft to the drive shaft via the motor shaft. The apparatus can be used to reduce acceleration and turbo lag in hybrid and high-performance vehicles.

  • Patent number: 10266367
Abstract: Transformable cable reels, related assemblies and methods are disclosed. The transformable cable reels may be provided in a first reel configuration for spooling on cable to the transformable cable reel and to pay out the spooled cable from the transformable cable reel. Cable spooled on the transformable cable reel may be payed out during cable installations. The transformable cable reel may also be configured in a second reel configuration for storage of any excess cable after cable payout. As one non-limiting example, the volume of the cable reel may be less in the second reel configuration than in the first reel configuration so that less volume is required to store the transformable cable reel. Providing the transformable cable reel in the second reel configuration may make it more feasible to store the transformable cable reel in fiber optic equipment, and/or avoid storing excess cable removed from a cable reel.

  • Patent number: 10162878
Abstract: An information handling system performs a method for finding a nearest neighbor of a point. In some embodiments, the method may be used for agglomerative clustering. The method includes projecting a space ? of a first dimension with a first distance ? to a space P of a second, smaller dimension with a distance ?? by a projection function p. For all pairs of points v1 and v2 in ?, ?? (p(v1), p(v2))??(v1, v2), where p is the function that projects points in ? to points in P. The method also includes selecting a point v in ? and performing a search for its nearest neighbor in ? by projecting v to P and locating a set S of nearest neighbors in P of p(v). A search is then performed in ? of a set of S? of points that project onto the points in S.
