  • Patent number: 10321092
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments relate to techniques for applying media effects to a video stream. For example, media effects may be applied and/or altered based on input from viewers or participants in the video stream. Changes to the media effects may accumulate based on the inputs. In another example, viewership numbers or engagement with a user applying a media effect may alter the media effect. In a broadcast context, actions of the broadcast audience (e.g., as measured by polling) may affect the broadcast and hence the broadcaster. Object recognition and/or people recognition may be applied to cumulatively alter the media effects in an augmented reality context.

  • Patent number: 10314573
Abstract: Suture clip deployment devices for applying suture clips to sutures are described. Some embodiments can include a generally tubular main body and a vacuum port located at the distal end, a hollow inner body longitudinally slidable within the main body and extending from the main body at its distal end, and a suture recess located in the generally tubular main body. At least one suture clip configured to frictionally fit on an outer surface of the inner body is deployed during use. Clip deployment can occur after a vacuum source is applied to the device so as to draw the suture into the device. The suture lines can be retrieved through the suture recess, and the device can be actuated so as to deliver the suture clip off the delivery device and onto the suture, locking the suture in place.

  • Patent number: 10319671
Abstract: A semiconductor package includes a leadframe, a first transistor chip connected to a first island of the leadframe in a drain-down configuration, and a second transistor chip connected to a second island of the leadframe in the same drain-down configuration as the first transistor chip. The first and the second islands of the leadframe are mutually electrically isolated from one another. The first island includes an extension which extends beyond a perimeter of the first transistor chip in a direction towards the second island and overlaps the second transistor chip. The first transistor chip and the second transistor chip are electrically interconnected with one another via the extension of the first island and a first electric connection element electrically connecting the extension to the second transistor chip to form a half bridge circuit.

  • Patent number: 10318027
Abstract: Certain exemplary embodiments relate to entertainment systems and, more particularly, to systems that incorporate digital downloading jukebox features and improved user interfaces. For instance, a smart search may be provided, e.g., where search results vary based on the popularity of songs within the venue, in dependence on songs being promoted, etc. As another example, a tile-based approach to organizing groupings of songs is provided. Groupings may involve self-populating collections of songs that combine centrally-promoted songs, songs in a given genre that are popular across an audiovisual distribution network, and songs that are locally popular and match up with the given genre (e.g., because of shared attributes such as same or similar genre, artist, etc.). Different tile visual presentations also are contemplated, as are different physical jukebox designs. In certain example embodiments, a sealed core unit with the “brains” of the jukebox is insertable into a docking station.

Abstract: A technological solution to the problem of meeting people solely through electronic communication is described. The technological solution includes receiving location data from a first user system a second user system of a potential encounter within a venue, and delivering a nudge from the first user system to the second user system. The nudge is a canned request to engage in an in-person communication for users associated with the first user system and the second user system. Upon confirmation of the nudge, and receiving confirmation of a human-to-human interaction, potential encounter contact information is provided to facilitate electronic communication between the first user system and the second user system.

  • Patent number: 10314565
Abstract: Surgical devices and methods are described. The surgical devices can generally include a housing having one or more actuators such as a closure actuator. An elongate shaft can extend distally from the housing and an end effector can be selectively coupled to a distal end of the shaft. The surgical device can include various features that prevent a user from actuating the device when the end effector is not properly coupled to the shaft. More specifically, the housing can include a locking member that can be pivoted or otherwise move relative the housing to cause various internal features of the housing to move to a ready-to-load position. With the locking member and actuator so positioned, an end effector can be loaded onto the shaft and the locking member can be moved from the ready-to-load position to the ready-to-actuate position, thus allowing the closure actuator to be in a ready-to-actuate position.
