  • Patent number: 11207020
Abstract: In the present invention, a system and associated method is provided for monitoring fetal vital parameters. The system includes a base unit, a monitoring hub including a digital signal processor/controller and operably connected to the base unit by a single channel digital signal protocol cable, e.g., a USB cable, and a number of fetal monitoring sensors operably connected to the monitoring hub. The controller processes the signals from the sensors into a single USB protocol which can be sent along a single cable to the base unit. The USB cable allows power to be supplied to the hub in order to charge a battery used to operate the hub and the sensors connected to the hub when disconnected from the base unit to allow the patient using the hub to move freely about the base unit, with all sensor signals from the hub being wirelessly transmitted to the base unit.

  • Patent number: 11206175
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for identifying blocked paths and network configuration settings that block paths in networks, such as network paths in a virtual private cloud (VPC). The configuration of virtual networks depends on the correct configuration of many networking resources, such as firewalls, security groups, routing lists, access control lists (ACLs), and the like. In some cases, an analysis that uses formal methods can be performed to determine a network configuration of a virtual network. Using the network configuration information, network paths that are blocked and network configuration settings that may be blocking one or more of the network paths can be determined. The PAS can provide an explanation of what is blocking the network paths. For example, the PAS may identify that a configuration setting of a firewall, router, network gateway, an access control list (ACL), and the like may be blocking a network path.

  • Publication number: 20210372363
Abstract: A buoyant hydrodynamic pump is disclosed that can float on a surface of a body of water over which waves tend to pass. The pump incorporates an open-bottomed tube with a constriction. The tube partially encloses a substantial volume of water with which the tube's constriction interacts, creating and/or amplifying oscillations therein in response to wave action. Wave-driven oscillations result in periodic upward ejections of portions of the water inside the tube that can be collected in a reservoir that is at least partially positioned above the mean water level of the body of water, or pressurized by compressed air or gas, or both. Water within such a reservoir may return to the body of water via a turbine, thereby generating electrical power (making the device a wave engine), or else the device's pumping action can be used for other purposes such as water circulation, propulsion, or cloud seeding.

  • Publication number: 20210374517
Abstract: Embodiments described herein allow predictions to be made for any continuous position by making use of a continuous position embedding based on previous observations. An encoder-decoder structure is described herein that allows effective predictions for any position without requiring predictions for intervening positions to be determined. This provides improvements in computational efficiency. Specific embodiments can be applied to predicting the number of events that are expected to occur at or by a given time. Embodiments can be adapted to make predict based on electronic health records, for instance, determining the likelihood of a particular health event occurring by a particular time.

  • Publication number: 20210354791
Abstract: A system and method by which energy from ocean waves is converted into hydrogen, and that hydrogen is used to manifest electrical and mechanical energies by an energy consuming device. A portion of the generated electrical power is communicated to water electrolyzers which produce oxygen and hydrogen from water as gases. At least a portion of the generated hydrogen gas is transferred to a transportation ship via a hose-carrying, remotely operated (or otherwise unmanned) vehicle, and subsequently transferred to an energy-consuming module or infrastructure, where a portion of the hydrogen is consumed in order to manifest a generation of electrical energy, a mechanical motion, and/or a chemical reaction.

  • Patent number: 11156201
Abstract: A buoyant wave energy device is disclosed that incorporates an open-bottomed tube of substantial length in which is partially enclosed a first body of water that oscillates in response to wave action. The device incorporates a buoy to which an upper end of the tube is connected and inside of which is trapped a second body of water of substantial mass. A differential phase in the oscillations of the water trapped in the tube, and the oscillations of the buoy of augmented mass, result in the periodic compression of a pocket of air trapped at the top of the tube, and in the subsequent expulsion of pressurized air through a turbine, thereby generating electrical power.

  • Publication number: 20210276909
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for nitrogen gas sparging assisted biological treatment of water. In one example, a denitrification system may include a media-packed column or bed through which nitrogen gas is sparged to remove dissolved oxygen from water. In some examples, an external carbon source and electron donor may be added to the media-packed column or bed to facilitate biological removal of the nitrate and/or other contaminants from the water. In this way, by relying on the sparged nitrogen gas to remove the dissolved oxygen, less of the external carbon source and electron donor may be employed as compared to denitrification systems not assisted by nitrogen gas sparging.
