  • Publication number: 20240152385
Abstract: An apparatus includes a CPU core, a first cache subsystem coupled to the CPU core, and a second memory coupled to the cache subsystem. The first cache subsystem includes a configuration register, a first memory, and a controller. The controller is configured to: receive a request directed to an address in the second memory and, in response to the configuration register having a first value, operate in a non-caching mode. In the non-caching mode, the controller is configured to provide the request to the second memory without caching data returned by the request in the first memory. In response to the configuration register having a second value, the controller is configured to operate in a caching mode. In the caching mode the controller is configured to provide the request to the second memory and cache data returned by the request in the first memory.

  • Patent number: 11977887
Abstract: In one disclosed embodiment, a processor includes a first execution unit and a second execution unit, a register file, and a data path including a plurality of lanes. The data path and the register file are arranged so that writing to the register file by the first execution unit and by the second execution unit is allowed over the data path, reading from the register file by the first execution unit is allowed over the data path, and reading from the register file by the second execution unit is not allowed over the data path. The processor also includes a power control circuit configured to, when a transfer of data between the register file and either of the first and second execution units uses less than all of the lanes, power down the lanes of the data path not used for the transfer of the data.

  • Patent number: 11979647
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and systems for operating an electronic device as a web camera are disclosed. The disclosed embodiments relate to features that enable a user to operate a mobile device as a webcam. A smartphone case can hold a smartphone and be attached to a display, such as a laptop monitor or a flatscreen monitor, with a camera of the smartphone pointed at the user. The smartphone case can include a magnet, which triggers a Hall effect sensor inside the laptop or flatscreen monitor. The sensor can be used to trigger software that enables the smartphone and laptop or computer to pair with each other, e.g., by a Bluetooth handshake. The laptop or computer can accept a Wi-Fi or physical signal, such as via USB, from the smartphone and treat that input as a video stream into the laptop or computer.

  • Patent number: 11971056
Abstract: A head unit device for controlling motion of an object includes a chamber filled with a shear thickening fluid (STF) and a piston. The piston is housed within the chamber and exerts pressure against the STF from a force applied to the piston from the object. The STF is configured to have a decreasing viscosity in response to a first range of shear rates and an increasing viscosity in response to a second range of shear rates. The piston includes at least one piston bypass between opposite sides of the piston that controls flow of the STF between the opposite sides of the piston to selectively react with a shear threshold effect of the first range of shear rates or the second range of shear rates.

  • Patent number: 11961096
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses are described for determining compliance with a plurality of restrictions associated with one or more devices in an organization. First text indicating restrictions may be received, and second text indicating a current configuration of one or more devices may be received. Both sets of text may be processed by, e.g., removing a portion of the text based on a predetermined list of terms and simplifying the text using a lemmatization algorithm. A first vector and second vector may be generated based on the processed sets of text, and each vector may be weighted based on an inverse frequency of words in their respective text. Each vector may be normalized based on semantic analysis. The two vectors may be compared. Based on the comparison, third text corresponding to a portion of the second vector may be generated and transmitted to a third computing device.
