  • Publication number: 20250091963
Abstract: Disclosed are surface retarder composition and method for etching cementitious materials which achieve a desirable light “acid etch” look without using muriatic (hydrochloric) acid or sand blasting, removing the human health and environmental concerns. Formulations in accordance with embodiments disclosed herein are easier to remove from formwork or molds after demolding than conventional retarder paints. Surface retarders prevent the hydration of cement particles, which allows the uncured layer of paste next to the form to be removed such as by washing with water or other fluids, or by brushing, revealing aggregates. Also disclosed are molded cement and concrete materials or articles exhibiting such light etch.

  • Publication number: 20250089850
Abstract: According to an embodiment, a component for attachment to an article includes an upper component that is made of a thermoplastic material having a first melting temperature and a flange member that is molded onto the upper component and made of a thermoplastic elastomer material having a second melting temperature that is lower than the first melting temperature of the upper component. The flange member extends laterally from a bottom end of the upper component so that a bottom surface of the flange member is flush with or positioned axially below a bottom surface of the upper component. The melting temperature of the thermoplastic elastomer material enables the flange member to be directly coupled to the article via heat welding and the like without substantially affecting the upper component.

  • Publication number: 20250095274
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to graphics processors that support ray tracing. In disclosed embodiments, ray intersect circuitry is configured to access a traversal stack used for traversal of multiple levels of a bounding volume hierarchy (BVH) acceleration data structure (ADS) according to a depth-first search to retrieve: coordinates of a first bounding region for a child node and a local ray parameter value that indicates a point along a ray at which an intersection with a second bounding region for the child node's parent node was detected. The accelerator circuitry may compare the local ray parameter value with an end ray parameter value to determine whether to traverse to the child node as part of traversal of the BVH.

  • Publication number: 20250070818
Abstract: The systems and methods described herein are directed to techniques for improving battery life performance of end devices in resource monitoring systems which transmit data using low-power, wide area network (LPWAN) technologies. Further, the techniques include providing sensor interfaces in the end devices configured to communicate with multiple types of metrology sensors. Additionally, the systems and methods include techniques for reducing the size of a concentrator of a gateway device which receives resource measurement data from end devices. The reduced size of the concentrator results in smaller, more compact gateway devices that consume less energy and reduce heat dissipation experienced in gateway devices. The concentrator may comply with modular interface standards, and include two radios configured for transmitting 1-watt signals.

  • Publication number: 20250032967
Abstract: Improvements to filtration and vessels such as for filtration and coalescing of gas streams are shown. A filter element with a partial treated region and untreated region such as providing different surface energies or other filtration characteristics are provided. Various keying arrangements for compatibility and/or rotational locking are shown between the filtration vessel, a tubular coalescing baffle, and/or filter element. The tubular coalescing baffle also may include non-louvered pore structure, which provides for more even flow in a two stage type filtration vessel to prevent premature exiting and reduction of flow velocities along the second stage, and/or may additionally or alternatively include drainage apertures such as drain slot formed along a gravitational bottom or otherwise to facilitate additional drainage of coalesced liquid as opposed to letting such liquid be forced through fluid velocity toward the open end of the tubular baffle.

  • Publication number: 20240116777
Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for separating an amount of an amphiphilic contaminant substance such as PFAS from water. The method comprising the steps of admitting the water which contains the substance into a flotation cell chamber, and then introducing a flow of gas thereinto. The gas is introduced by several different apparatus options for efficient aeration of the chamber, depending on the water being treated. The introduced gas produces a froth layer which is formed at, and which rises above, an interface with the contents of the chamber. The froth layer includes an amount of water and also a concentrated amount of the contaminant substance when compared with its initial concentration. The process then involves collapsing and removing the froth layer, with several options for removing the PFAS from that liquid by re-flotation to reconcentrate the PFAS, or absorption onto a solid substrate material.

  • Publication number: 20240098492
Abstract: During operation, an access point may provide a first WLAN and a second WLAN, where the first WLAN uses a WPA2-compatible authentication protocol and the second WLAN uses a WPA3-compatible authentication protocol. In response to an association request or a probe request associated with (or from) an electronic device, the access point may establish a connection with the electronic device using the first WLAN. Then, the access point may confirm, with a computer system, that a binding between a passphrase associated with the electronic device and the second WLAN exists. Alternatively, when the binding does not exist, the access point may establish the binding in the computer system. Next, the access point may perform a BSS transition of the electronic device from the first WLAN to the second WLAN.
