  • Patent number: 8740389
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided in which a digital image is transmitted to a presentation projector resource over a wireless transmission medium using a reduced amount of bandwidth by transmitting a subset of the digital image data. The subset of image data may be a delta subset that represents those areas of the image that have changed since the previous transmission. The subset image data may also be a scalable vector graphics representation of the subset of the digital image. A projector discovery logic selects a suitable projector resource based on the order or signal strength of the discovery replies. A wireless image transmission session is established with the selected projector resource during which the projector is unavailable to other devices. The subset image data may be compressed and transmission coordinated with the projector resource so that the data is sent only when it is ready to be received.

  • Patent number: 8588391
Abstract: An approach for establishing a communication session according to a subscriber profile that is automatically updated is disclosed. A locator device, which is associated with a subscriber and includes a Global Positioning System (GPS) transponder, outputs geographic information that is transmitted to a communications network for establishing the communication session. The geographic information corresponds to one of a plurality of addresses specified in the subscriber profile to set a current address. The addresses are associated with a plurality of devices adapted to complete the communication session. The one address is designated as the current address if the geographic information corresponds to the one address, otherwise the current address is set to a default address, wherein the communication session is established based on the current address.

  • Publication number: 20120268427
Abstract: Optical filtered sensor-in-pixel technology for touch sensing, in which a waveguide receives infrared light emitted by a light source and causes at least some of the received infrared light to undergo total internal reflection within the waveguide. A frustrating layer is disposed relative to the waveguide so as to contact the waveguide when a touch input is provided. The frustrating layer causes frustration of the total internal reflection of the received infrared light within the waveguide at a contact point between the frustrating layer and the waveguide. A sensor-in-pixel display displays an image that is perceivable through the waveguide and the frustrating layer and includes photosensors. The photosensors have a photosensor corresponding to each pixel of the image and sense at least some of the infrared light that escapes from the waveguide at the contact point.

  • Publication number: 20120247874
Abstract: A lubrication system includes a reserve housing configured to retain a lubrication fluid. A supply line in fluid communication with the reserve housing is configured to provide pressurized lubrication fluid to the reserve housing. An overflow tube has an overflow port, the overflow tube being configured to prevent the volume of the lubrication fluid from exceeding a certain amount. A metering jet is configured to allow the lubrication fluid to flow from the reserve housing onto a component, such as a bearing, in the gearbox at a predetermined rate. The metering jet provides flow of the lubrication fluid onto the bearing even when the supply line no longer provides pressurized lubrication fluid to the reserve housing.
