  • Publication number: 20240082858
Abstract: Polymeric electro spray emitters and related methods are generally described. In some embodiments, an emitter may be made from an ionic electro active polymer. The composition of the electro spray emitters described herein may enable the transport of ions and/or liquid ion sources, such as an ionic liquid or room temperature molten salt, through the bulk of the polymeric emitter. In some embodiments, the described emitters may be fabricated using a mixture of an ionic electroactive polymer, a solvent, and a liquid ion source to at least partially mitigate swelling effects of the polymer emitter that may otherwise occur when the one or more emitters are exposed to the liquid ion source during operation.

  • Patent number: 11927839
Abstract: An electro-absorption modulator (EAM) is configured to include an on-chip AC ground plane that is used to terminate the high frequency RF input signal within the chip itself. This on-chip ground termination of the modulation input signal improves the frequency response of the EAM, which is an important feature when the EAM needs to support data rates in excess of 50 Gbd. By virtue of using an on-chip ground for the very high frequency signal content, it is possible to use less expensive off-chip components to address the lower frequency range of the data signal (i.e., for frequencies less than about 1 GHz).

Abstract: A spot-size converter includes first and second waveguide structures. The first waveguide structure extends longitudinally along a waveguide axis from a first end to a second end and is configured to support a first optical mode at the first end. The second waveguide structure is formed within the first waveguide structure. The second waveguide structure extends longitudinally between the first end and the second end. The second waveguide structure is configured to support a second optical mode at the second end. The second optical mode has a different diameter than the first optical mode. The second waveguide structure includes a waveguide core that has a first cross-sectional area in a first plane normal to the waveguide axis at the first end and a second cross-sectional area in a second plane normal to the waveguide axis at the second end. • Patent number: 11893205
Abstract: In non-limiting examples of the present disclosure, systems, methods and devices for enabling real-time gestures on shared canvases are presented. A shared object service may be associated with a plurality of shared objects. A plurality of user accounts and/or client devices may be granted access to a shared object. Each client device that accesses the shared object may store a distributed data structure locally that corresponds to the shared object. When client devices perform operations associated with the shared object the operations are logged by the shared object service and timestamped. Those operations are then reported to the client devices, where cursor movements can be rendered in real time. If cursor movements and/or user input device operations associated with a cursor meet conditions for a gesture operation the cursor may be transformed to a gesture/animation and rendered on canvases of each connected client device.

  • Patent number: 11868417
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, that identify and issue search queries expected to be issued in the future. A set of search queries that have been issued by multiple user devices can be obtained. For each query instance, contextual data can be obtained. A first query and its contextual data can be input to a model that outputs the query's likelihood of being issued in the future. The model can be trained using contextual data for training queries and a corresponding labels for the training queries. The learning model outputs the first query's likelihood of being issued in future, and this query is stored as a repeatable query if the likelihood satisfying a repeatability threshold. Subsequently, a stored repeatable query is issued upon a selection of a user selectable interface component and the search engine provides search results for the query.

  • Patent number: 11830350
Abstract: Multiple subterranean probes at an area of land detect soil conditions and wirelessly transmit soil condition information to a service provider's backend server or to a technician's hand-held wireless device. The server provides multiple user interface screens of a customer application that display soil condition information and irrigation's system status. Local micro weather stations may determine and wirelessly transmit weather condition information to the server. An installer may use the customer application to determine that received signal strength at a given probe is weak and should thus be relocated, or to determine refined location information corresponding to the probe. Historical soil condition information and artificial intelligence may predict soil conditions where a previously installed probe has been moved or quit working. Probes' housings seal internal electronics, including soil condition sensors, wireless communication modules, processors, and memory.

  • Patent number: 11829791
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to devices and methods for creating one or more proxy devices in a guest device mirroring the devices hosted by a host device. The proxy devices may provide full device access functionality to applications running in the guest device. The devices and methods may load a proxy driver inside the guest device, which communicates with the host device. When applications running on the guest device interact with the proxy devices, the proxy driver communicates the interaction to the host device, which communicates with the device driver managing the device. The devices and methods allow applications running on the host and applications running on the guest to shares access to the same device.
