    Abstract: Devices can be implanted in an eye to treat glaucoma and/or dry eye. The devices described herein include a body defining a lumen and having first and second ends and external and lumenal surfaces. The body has a length sufficient to provide fluid communication between the anterior chamber and tear film of the eye through the lumen when the device is implanted in the sclera. The body can include a radiused distal edge. A distal end portion of the body can be laterally flared. The body can include a mid-body portion that is laterally narrower than distal and proximal end portions of the body. Methods of treating glaucoma and/or dry eye, wherein the device is implanted in the sclera of an afflicted eye, are also described.

    Abstract: The method of manufacturing a magnetic rotor unit comprises providing a composite magnetic rotor body. The composite magnetic rotor body comprises magnetic particles dispersed in a polymer resin. The composite magnetic rotor body has a hole. The method further comprises inserting a shaft into the hole. The outer diameter of the shaft corresponds to the inner diameter of the hole. The method further comprises heating of the shaft. By heating the shaft, the elevated temperature of the shaft surface preferentially induces the polymer resin from an inner surface of the hole to exude or sweat on to the shaft surface, so as to provide a bonding layer between the magnetic rotor body and the shaft. An apparatus for such manufacture, and a magnetic rotor unit manufactured by such method, are also provided. Such rotor units have wide application, and may for example be used in sensors, electromagnetic generators, pulse generators, motors, magnetic brakes and magnetic couplings.

An inter-roller air passageway may be defined between the leading roller and the brush roll wherein the lower portion of the leading roller is exposed to a flow path to the suction conduit and an upper portion of the leading roller is outside of the flow path. Optionally, a combing unit includes a plurality of combing protrusions extending into the leading roller and having leading edges not aligned with a center of the leading roller. The underside may define side edge vacuum passageways extending from the sides of the housing partially between the leading roller and the sealing strip towards the opening.

    Abstract: According to an aspect of the present disclosure, a method of treating a textile with an antimicrobial agent over a plurality of laundry cycles each including a wash cycle and a treatment cycle is described. The method includes (a) receiving a textile in a wash system for a first laundry cycle, (b) initiating a wash cycle comprising a detergent, (c) initiating a post-detergent treatment cycle comprising dosing the textile with a solution having a predetermined concentration of an antimicrobial agent that comprises a metallic ion, and (c) repeating steps (a)-(c) for each of a plurality of additional laundry cycles. The predetermined concentration is insufficient to achieve a predetermined antimicrobial efficacy for the textile due to the first laundry cycle alone but sufficient to achieve the predetermined antimicrobial efficacy for the textile due to a combination of the first laundry cycle and one or more of the plurality of additional laundry cycles.

    Abstract: An SMA actuator arrangement is assembled using a strut element shaped to comprise a sacrificial strut body and crimp tabs held apart by the sacrificial strut body. A SMA wire is laid across the crimp tabs which are folded and pressed to form crimps holding the SMA wire. The crimps are then attached to static and moving parts, after which the sacrificial strut body is removed. The method allows the crimping to be performed without hindrance from the static and moving parts, the sacrificial strut body holding the relative locations of the crimps prior to attachment.

The rotating brush roll may be located in the suction conduit with the leading roller located in front of and spaced from the brush roll, forming an inter-roller air passageway therebetween. The leading roller may provide a softer cleaning element than the brush roll and may also have an outside diameter that is less than the outside diameter of the brush roll. The surface cleaning head may also include debriding protrusions contacting the leading roller and/or a leading bumper that extends in front of the leading roller.

    Abstract: Light emitting diode (LED) light tubes having rotatable end cap assemblies are described. The LED light tubes include a hollow tube and a circuit board with LED chips thereon. The end cap assemblies are provided on either end of the tube. A cam locking mount that is positioned within the plug body and on the opposite side has projections to be positioned in the bore of the end cap body.
