  • Patent number: 11871208
Abstract: An illustrative application executing on a first device establishes a first network connection between the first device and a collaboration platform server managing a set of components for a collaboration platform providing voice communication services with respect to a virtual space. Using the first network connection, the application: 1) sets a first location within the virtual space at which a first voice component is positioned, and 2) determines a second location within the virtual space at which a second voice component is positioned. The application receives, by way of a second network connection between the first and second devices, audio data representing voice communication originating at the second device. Based on the first and second locations, the application generates a spatialized rendering of the audio data for presentation to a user. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20240003893
Abstract: We have developed the tag-assisted split enzyme complementation (TASEC) approach, which uses two orthogonal small peptide tags and their cognate binders to conditionally drive complementation of a split enzyme upon labeled protein expression. Using this approach, we have engineered and optimized the tag-assisted split HaloTag complementation system (TA-splitHalo) and demonstrated its versatile applications in improving the efficiency of knock-in cell enrichment, detection of protein-protein interaction, and isolation of biallelic gene edited cells through multiplexing.

  • Publication number: 20230418926
Abstract: Software-based authentication techniques may use mutable authentication data that changes to deter counterfeiters from making clones of authentic clients. An authentication service may issue mutable authentication data to a client and store the mutable authentication data in association with an identifier of the client. The client may authenticate by presenting the most recently issued mutable authentication data to the authentication service. Upon successful authentication, the authentication service may issue updated mutable authentication data to the client. Any clones that cannot present the most recent mutable authentication data may be rejected by the authentication service. By changing the mutable authentication data, counterfeiters cannot make a large number of clones that all work at the same time.

  • Publication number: 20230417891
Abstract: A method according to an embodiment includes receiving UWB data indicative of a distance of a mobile device relative to the access control device and a SNR of signals received by a plurality of UWB antennas, inferring a side of the passageway at which the mobile device is located based on the distance of the mobile device relative to the access control device and also based on the SNR of the signals, estimating a travel time of the mobile device to the passageway based on the UWB data if the inferred side of the passageway based on the distance of the mobile device is different from the side of the passageway inferred based on the SNR of the signals, and determining the side of the passageway at which the mobile device is located to be an unsecure side of the passageway if the travel time exceeds a predefined threshold time.

  • Publication number: 20230399211
Abstract: A manually operable height adjustable platform has a platform mounted to a base via an extensible scissor mechanism. At least one drive strut is mounted in a force path between the platform and the base and configured to bias the platform and the base away from one another via extension of the scissor mechanism. An actuation system controls movement of the platform and the base away from one another under the biasing force, where the actuation system has a manual actuator operatively connected to a pinion on one of the platform and scissor mechanism/base configured to engage a rack on the other of the platform and scissor mechanism/base. A manual actuator mounted above the platform operates the actuation system by an operator in normal use, and an override mechanism mounted below the platform acts on the drive strut for lowering of the platform without actuation of the manual actuator.

  • Patent number: 11842194
Abstract: Systems and methods for illumination power, management and control can include lighting fixtures, lighting controllers, databases, and gateways. The lighting controllers can power the lighting fixtures, control the lighting fixtures, and store fixture state data and controller state data. The lighting controllers can be connected to building mains power (e.g., 240 VAC) and provide DC power to the lighting fixtures. The lighting controllers can read state data from and control the fixtures via a digital interface. The Database server can store user profiles, site profiles, fixture property data, and controller property data. The gateway can read and modify the state data stored by the lighting controllers, and can query the database server for the property data. The gateway can also provide a user interface through which users, based on authorization, can read and write the state data (e.g., fixture on/off) and the property data.
