  • Publication number: 20150007037
Abstract: In some embodiments, a non-transitory processor-readable medium stores code representing instructions for execution by a computer processor. The instructions cause the processor to produce a list of subjects by identifying a plurality of subjects based on information associated with an analyst-selected topic. The list of subjects is expanded to include subjects that have a relationship with at least one subject from the first list of subjects. Subjects are removed from the list based on either a filter or a scoring threshold. The expanding and removing subjects is iterated until the list of subjects is substantially stable to produce a final list of subjects. A graphical network is defined based on the final list of subjects and a signal is sent representing the graphical network (e.g., to a computer monitor for display).

  • Patent number: 8882723
Abstract: A drive member and a rotation member are rotatable with respect to a housing. A stop member is rotationally locked with the housing. Clutches unidirectionally rotationally engage the drive member with the rotation member and with the stop member when a unit is attached to the housing. A separating member is disposed between the rotation member and the stop member. The separating member causes a separation of the rotation member, the drive member and the stop member when the unit is removed. A coupling feature of the separating member is provided to engage the unit and to move the separating member when the unit is being attached to the housing or is being removed.

  • Patent number: 8848984
Abstract: Disclosed is a method (160) for identifying potential tamper in a candidate document having content affected by noise. A candidate content value for each of a plurality of sub-regions of the candidate document and an original content value for each of a plurality of sub-regions of a corresponding original document are determined. The content values are desirably determined based on at least one characteristic of the content in the corresponding sub-region. The candidate content values (330) are associated with the corresponding original content values and a distribution of the candidate content values based on the corresponding original content values is determined. The method characterizes (340) the noise in the candidate document by determining an expected content value range based on the spread of a selected part of the distribution of candidate content values. The method can then identify (350) candidate content values outside the expected content value range as potential tamper.

  • Patent number: 8774827
Abstract: A tracking device is disclosed for communication of location coordinate information. In one embodiment, the tracking device includes a signal transceiver device, a location coordinate acquisition device, and a computational processor activated and deactivated in accordance with a subscriber service usage profile. The location coordinate acquisition device generates a position fix of the tracking device and a signal transceiver device reports the position fix to a location tracking server. A flash memory device stores a zone management map. In accordance with a fix reporting period based at least in part on a subscriber service usage application including or accessing the subscriber service usage profile, an internal clock activates or deactivates the signal transceiver device, the computational processor, and/or the location coordinate acquisition device.
