  • Publication number: 20240071257
Abstract: A surgeon training apparatus includes a cassette, which includes biological tissue repurposed into a form consistent with the anatomical configuration of abdominal hernias, affixed into an anatomically correct silicon framework which replicates the abdominal anatomy. The framework positions the cassette in an anatomically correct position within the abdominal cavity, enabling surgeons to train using a properly positioned representation of the target anatomy, thus requiring the surgeon to properly use surgical tools to correct the pathologic condition caused by the hernia. The cassette is formed by applying biologic tissue to a specially designed “plate,” which affixes the tissue block into the anatomic framework, and is adapted for connection to a grounding device so the surgeon can use cautery during the simulated hernia repair.

  • Publication number: 20220167178
Abstract: A method of managing wireless access to a network performed by an access point includes storing a programmable response time for defining a zone of operation around the access point, receiving from a client device a request to associate with the access point, transmitting a probe to the client device, when a response to the probe is received, measuring a round trip time between transmission of the probe and receipt of the response, determining whether the client device's request to associate with the access point should be granted or denied by comparing the round trip time to the programmable response time, granting the request to associate in response to determining that the round trip time is less than the programmable response time, and denying the request to associate with the access point in response to determining that the round trip time is longer than the programmable response time.

  • Publication number: 20210402446
Abstract: A cleaning system includes a mobile base that enables movement of the cleaning system. The cleaning system also includes a camera that captures an image of a cleaning location and an ultraviolet light source that transmits a disinfecting light output toward the cleaning location. Additionally, the cleaning system includes a processor and a memory. The memory includes instructions stored thereon that are executable by the processor to perform operations. The operations include receiving the image of the cleaning location from the camera and determining a distance from the ultraviolet light source to the cleaning location using the image. Further, the operations include determining a cleaning time period of the cleaning location using the distance from the ultraviolet light source to the cleaning location and controlling the ultraviolet light source to transmit the disinfecting light output for a duration of the cleaning time period.

  • Patent number: 10744545
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a continuous cleaning method for cleaning a moving fabric in a paper machine. The method uses one or more cleaning stages. In one embodiment, one cleaning stage applies steam to heat and soften contaminants on the fabric followed by the application of water, preferably superheated water, to remove the contaminants. Another cleaning stage may apply hot water, steam and/or superheated water via an encapsulated shower and evacuation chamber making it possible to clean the width of the fabric without substantial rewet.

  • Patent number: 10594126
Abstract: A process for extruding a divided conduit comprising obtaining an extrusion die head, inserting a strip-shaped substrate into the extrusion die head such that the strip shaped substrate is located within the tip gap and extends at least partially out of the tip gap such that the longitudinal edges are located in the die gap, and flowing molten polymer through die gap, encapsulating the longitudinal edges of the strip-shaped substrate in molten polymer. The extrusion die head contains a tip region and a bushing. The tip region contains at least 2 tips separated by a tip gap. The bushing extends around the tip region and the distance between the tip region and the inner surface of the bushing is defined to be the die gap and the die gap varies around the bushing.

  • Patent number: 10448259
Abstract: A wireless access point includes an antenna, a connection port providing wired communications with a network, one or more processors, and a storage device having software stored therein. When executed by the one or more processors the software causes the wireless access point to respond to a probe from a client device requesting a specific service set identifier according to a wildcard service set identifier response in order to facilitate wireless association of the client device with the wireless access point regardless of the specific service set identifier requested by the client device, and to provide the client device with wireless access to the network. In this way, the client device is enabled to associate with the wireless access point and receive access to the network without a specific service set identifier requested by the client device being preprogrammed into the wireless access point.

  • Patent number: 10239248
Abstract: A method of forming a conduit having at least one strip-shaped fabric substrate dividing the conduit into channels. The method contains obtaining an extrusion die configured to form the wall of the conduit and a slot configured for receipt of a strip-shaped fabric substrate and introducing a strip-shaped fabric substrate into the slot. The strip-shaped textile is air permeable and contains enlarged regions at the first and second longitudinal edges. Molten polymer is introduced at a first point in the extrusion die and at the first point the slot and the area configured to form the wall of the conduit are not in communication. The slot is exposed to the molten polymer at a point between the first point and the die exit forming the first polymeric layer of the conduit such that the first longitudinal and second longitudinal edges of the strip-shaped fabric substrate embed into the molten polymer.
